Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

The Sheriff is awesome

QuoteReferring to Borgwardt as a "smart guy," Sheriff Mark Podoll revealed that Borgwardt chose Green Lake because it was the deepest lake in Wisconsin and didn't expect authorities to spend more than two weeks in the search.

"I hate to tell you, he picked the wrong sheriff and the wrong department," said Podoll.

Is the New York Post under the impression that Uzbekistan is in Eastern Europe? Or am I missing something here.

Anyway, if I'm his wife, I'm telling him to stay where he is.

This dude's family doesn't live too far from me. We are friends with several people who know him because his kids go to the same small Lutheran high school that they did. They are as mystified as anyone by what he did. By all accounts he was a good family man.
Have some patience, FFS.

The NY Post is a tabloid.

Honestly, I can't imagine how his kids are holding up. His wife too. That's the sad part in all of this.

I've read a number of stories about this, so it's definitely been covered.
Cant believe the sheriff actually said that it would be a great Christmas gift for his family to return home - I would think his wife is completely done with him....

Maybe he always wanted to live in one of the 2 double landlocked countries in the world.

I am thinking that maybe they are trying to get him to come home because they have something to charge him with, but it's not serious enough that it is worth the trouble of formally extraditing him.

Not to mention the U.S. doesn't have an extradition treaty with Uzbekistan

Randomly, over the last 18 months, we've become close friends/neighbors with a Turkmen couple, 2 Kazakh sisters and their husbands, and most recently an Uzbek woman and her Georgian husband.  All absolutely amazing, warm, and generous/hospitable people.  That being said, none of them are in any hurry to flee back to their homelands  ;D  ;D

(Well, except the Georgian who can't rave about Tbisili enough)

Then again, I had a former coworker who started frequenting Asian dating sites during the breakdown of his marriage and moved to Cambodia to pursue one of those connections as soon as the ink was dry on his marriage.  So maybe this dude just skipped a few steps and added a few dashes of cowardice.

I assume you mean as soon as the ink was dry on his divorce.

This was my thought as well.  How would you meet a woman from that country except through some sort of international dating site?
