Whoa, whoa, whoa.  Don't want to get into politics, but Nixon was a great president, and what he got impeached for was nothing compared to what the current politicians on both sides of the aisle do.  He won his second term by a landslide for a reason.  Weird and paranoid dude, no doubt.

I'd suggest the state of Democratic Party at the time and the success of the GOP's Southern Strategy had as much to do with the results as anything Nixon did in office.
He wasn't the worst president in terms of policy, but "great" seems a bit much. His economic policies left a lot to be desired.

Nixon did passed some very good policy - some stuff that today would be labeled "woke" or even "commie."

But 1. He let tens of thousands of young American men die unnecessarily in a war he let drag on for far too long, and 2. He was a raging racist and antisemite.

For those reasons alone, Nixon was nowhere near "great." And there were other reasons, too.

He deserved to get impeached because of the cover-up, but I agree that the actual Watergate incident does seem quaint now compared to the various treasonous, unethical, immoral, illegal and cruel acts of the man historians selected as the WOAT.

Nixon was a big time mama’s boy! Very weird dude, which I guess most people who run for this office have to be.

He also intentionally prolonged an international crisis for political gain (Vietnam).

Also Reagan most likely delayed the release of the hostages.

Corrupt birds of a feather aina

He won a largest of the popular vote landslide in recorded history - 60.7%.

And had an approval rating of of 69% just after he was inaugurated for his second term. That fell to 24% just before he resigned - less than two years later.

It seems like we are glossing over the main reason why historians view him as a poor president.

Iran hostage crisis is his mark, of course. Soviet grain embargo was I’ll conceived, among other decisions. But, America wanted change after Nixon, Ford.  Carter did some good in bringing awareness to Habitat for Humanity’s mission, so there’s that. And, 100 yrs old is incredible.

Like Tower said, a much better man than a president. In addition to the things you mention he also boycotted the 1980 Olympics which imo was beyond foolish. All of our athletes punished while Russia laughed all the to the medal stand. We sure showed ‘em!

Then the Russians turned around and boycotted the 84 LA games.  With American athletes laughing all of the way to the medal stand.

A better former president than president.  A better man than president.

Agree. Happy Birthday President Carter.

Great statesman and contributor to society for 40+ years. In that regard, perhaps the best ex-president ever?

I've read that the Chief Justice position was what he really wanted, more so than the presidency.

He weighed over 350 lbs. but apparently the story of him getting stuck in a bathtub in the White House is bogus. A special order, 41-inch-wide tub was installed in the WH for him though.

Yeah, anyone who thinks Joe Biden is the worst president of their lifetime, and that lifetime included the likes of Nixon, Carter and Trump, is way too obsessed with current politics.

The bolded isn't accurate. He participated in the covering up of a felony whose primary purpose was to steal information from an opposing candidate's party. What politicians do that now?

Your first picture doesn't address anything.

Your second picture implies that Bill Clinton was as bad as Nixon, but I specifically said cover up a felony. Clinton didn't do that.

And it would be helpful if you could learn how to imbed images into a post and not attach them.

One thing all of them have in common?  They’d have known Tyler Kolek would play in the NBA by watching him at Marquette

Kolek's attitude may keep him out of the NBA.

To be fair, they didn't see him lose to RED three straight years and have their brothers in law make fun of them.

The Taft name is all over buildings around New Haven.

I visited his childhood home in Cincinnati.  Apparently, he fell off a horse as a teenager and banged his head on a curb and they think it damaged something in his brain that caused him to gain weight and be unable to lose.

first pic needs no explanation.
Give me a great economy, strong private sector, low/no inflation, record high GDP, properly equipped military, energy independence, border security and world tyrants in the corral. Trump accomplished this. Reagan’s second term was incredibly strong, Trumps pre-Covid was a close second. Enjoy the prosperity of Trump again…or we all suffer the shiit show of Biden II…Harris/Walz.
