Apparently the Connecticut Sun sale is going to get very messy.

Former Bucks owner and Connecticut native, Marc Lasry, is matching the Boston bid at $325mil purchase price and the state of Connecticut is willing to build a practice facility for the team in the Hartford area.

The League is trying to tell the team that moving 45 miles to Hartford when the team name is "Connecticut" is relocation and because Hartford did not apply for an expansion team that other cities in the USA that applied for expansion are priority for relocation. 

Word is the Mohegan Tribe is telling the league the Sate of Connecticut is our partner, Connecticut is the home of women's basketball and we want the team to remain here and we plan to sell to the Lasry group.  (The thought is there may be an agreement to continue to play some of the home games at the Mohegan Sun casino.)  And the Boston group was the tribes backup plan to keep the team in New England. 
 
And the State is arguing with the league that their statement/requirement is utterly ridiculous because why would "Hartford" apply for an expansion WNBA team when we already have a team.
