Was not a good look by MU players not going to shake hands with NC State players during pregame intros. Only Kam did. The NC state players waited at half court for awhile while all of Oso, Stevie, Jop, and lastly Kolek went through their whole dabs with teammates and NC State players just sat at half court and waiting.

Maybe not at Big East custom, but it was a bad look and in my opinion they just added juice to NC State as underdogs.

Multiple edits made to original post..typing fast on phone while at the Duke Houston game.

That aside, people can make fun of the post - but NC State players and fans 100% took notice. Try at doesn't change 4 for 31 shooting, but in my opinion not good judgment to add juice to an underdog from what they no doubt perceived as a slight.

I remember when we did that against Wisconsin and won. Juju gods on a break that day.

I felt the same at the game. Strange. They left NC State platers players hanging. BS move

Last minute bulletin board material and poor sportsmanship.

You think NC State discussed that at the first timeout and they got fired up?

On the top 100 list of reasons why we lost, this ranks 102nd.

NC State didn't play well. We just missed so many wide open shots. They tried their best to leave the door open for us. We politely closed it for them.

They absolutely noticed it. it was painfully obvious.

And had no impact on the game at all.

They would not stop talking about it the post game news conference.  ::)

Not the point, but whatever. If you were at the game you might have perceived it differently.

Ya....."The NC State played well narrative" is patently false.

What is the point? The non handshakes were not an issue for NCST players, coaches or the all the media. Plus, the media is 100% looking for any real or contrived stories at these events. So, is the point MU unleashed bad karma, excuse me juju, from the cosmos and that is why they lost?  ::)

I'm cool with goofy, fun takes here. That's what this thread should be. "Juju" and all

The notion MU and Shaka are a team of "F-U, we don't care about or respect our opponents" guys is hard for me to swallow.  But please feel free to educate me.

The Sultan

Yes Marquette should have shook the hands of their opponents, but two things are also true.

1. It had no impact on the game.

2. The pre-game handshakes are dumb.

Marquette didn't shake Colorados hands either. Didn't seem to make a difference

That's why Colorado spent the first half letting Marquette get overconfident. During halftime, all their players talked about was, "Now it's time to pounce on those non-handshakers." And that explains the Buffs' rally early in the second half.

I mean, c'mon people. That's just science.

Everyone but David Joplin shook hands in the Colorado game. Granted, it took them a long time to get out there and do it because of the handshake routine, but they all eventually made it out there except Joplin who was last.

WhiteTrash

If nothing else, Shaka will learn from this and get a Voodoo Witch Doctor on staff to properly deal with this.

I was there.  Unless the players snuck over to colorados bench after the colorado player went to halfcourt, stood for a second and then returned to their bench I think youre mistaken. I think Lampkin got a handshake by literally walking into MUs huddle

I was there as well. When first Colorado player went out I became morbidly fascinated with how long he had to wait which caused me to really focus on the whole process. All MU guys eventually made it over there except Joplin. I watched the whole thing unfold. The next guy for Marquette was already being introduced by the time they would make it over.
