A horrible shooting performance at the worst time but proud of our team and staff and I know they're hurting much more than any of us.

Excited for the future of this program as much as tonight sucks.

That said , I am in the camp that says we lost because the Other Team was better. They had Better Players and a Better game plan . Simple as that . Doesn't diminish my enthusiasm for our program at all.

The other team was better tonight, primarily because we couldn't make a shot.

An entire season told us they did not have better players. They were not the better team.

That's what makes the tourney amazing and heartbreaking.

I don't think anyone believes NCST is a better team. MU was historically bad shooting. MU took good shots. By your logic Oakland is better than MU.

better players? No, imo. But a better game plan, better coached on this one night...which unfortunately is all it took. Play NC State in a best of 7. MU wins 4-1. I'm a little uptight about our front court for next season...Gold, Jop and...? what are you aware of with regard to Caedin?

There is no game plan to correct 3 for 31 shooting. It allowed NC State to crowd the middle and take away drives to the basket.

The team fought their tails off the whole game. I thought maybe they tried too hard when shots weren't falling.

I'm just as proud to be an MU fan now as I was before the game. Shots just didn't fall.

That's fair. But I also think it is fair for some people to say the performance was embarrassing, I would never say the effort was embarrassing. I would not find it unusual if the players said they were embarrassed by shooting 12% from 3. I think they have high expectation for themselves.

Not embarrassed at all.   Wrong time to have a bad shooting game.   56-17 over the last two seasons.  A Big East regular season title.  A Big East tourney title.  A sweet 16.   

What exactly is embarrassing?   Losing in an upset?   It happens every season in the tournament.

I think people are splitting hairs or have different definitions of embarrassing. For example, if you are an 8 handicap and card a 98, it wouldn't be unusual to say you were embarrassed by your play. It is not a reflection on your effort or your personality.

As a then 6 handicap who dropped a 104 on the second day of a golf trip 20 years ago and heard about it all night....meh.  I took the abuse and moved on.
