If you don't think that Women's basketball is exciting then you clearly were not at the Al last night.  The team was down 18-2 before anyone even knew the game had started yet they came back to win, which drove Pittsburgh's already bat...t crazy coach into complete madness.

Anyway, here are the pics..

This fan was beside himself with excitement...

awesome pics again.. I am constantly amazed that you can get these shots in midair and no blur at all in the action.  you can even see a really decent depth of field which is rarely easy.  amazing.  and you seem to know when to push the button too.

cool to see crean was at the game - glad he wasn't shirtless with MU painted on his chest  :D

did your husband get behind the drums like he was hoping?  did they offer him a full-time job after it? any pics to document it?  8-)

Gotta be a little surprised that Crean and family show up for the women's basketball game .. not because it's not fun and exciting (which it probably is) .. more that, on a night off, dontcha think they'd avoid basketball completely?

Tom:  Hey, Joani.  What do you say to going to a basketball game tonight?

Joani:  Are you freaking kidding?

Why are the women still wearing Nike?  Shouldn't they be getting Converse uni's too?

TC and Joanie both looked like they had some bad Mexican for dinner and are in need of GasX and/or Beano. Cottingham, on the other hand, is as happy as a clam that he still has a job. ;D

That is the look of a father being lectured to by his pre-teen daughter.  That look, to me, said "If I ignore her long enough she'll stop asking me and start asking her mother."

I think it speaks volumes about the Crean family committment to Marquette University, both Tom and Joani. After all, why wasn't he prepping for his IU interview????????????

I agree.  Game last night was amazing.  I had a ton of fun there.  I really enjoy being able to yell at coach and players on other team when I know they can hear every word I say

Yes, he got to play a little during half time.  A couple songs, including Ring Out Ahoya.  He took his camera so I could not get a picture of him.

Actually, yes I did get to sit in with the band,  thanks to Dr. Janners, Mr. Stossi and the guy whose spot I took.  I even got to play Ring Out Ahoya.  If there is any pictorial evidence floating around, should I find it posted anywhere, I will find you.

I wish I could take credit of knowing when to press the button on the camera, the actual secret is my camera fires photos at 8.5 frames per second.  You see the 10 I post, I actually took over 300 however, having all of them in focus does take some skill so I will take credit for that plus every professional sports photographer will tell you the same story, there's a reason they make cameras that shoot that fast.

By the way, if I had to guess what was going on in the Crean picture I would say that Joanie is telling Cottingham "You may have the job, but we both know who is in charge."

As for the Erin Monfre stalker...All you had to do was ask..

Is Erin playing up to her potential?  Is she a solid contributor, who just doesn't show up in the stat line?

Man, I loved her game in high school.  She made her team much better, never selfish, always found the open player.  Usually double teamed, and when she got the ball in scoring position, sometimes triple teamed.   I hoped for more from a stat point of view @ MU,  but she always  was a team player.

My daughter played for Catholic Memorial at the time, so I saw a lot of Monfre's games, always on the wrong end of the win.

Here's a pic of Erin Monfre attempting a 3 point shot - thought it was a good pic of her in the air.  I was surprised this shot didn't go in - looked good initially and looked like it was going to get a good bounce:

nowhere near...one of the best shots and quickest release in either men or women's bball but it doesn't fall consistently enough for w/e reason. also, her ability to beat people off the dribble that she had in hs hasn't been prevalent while she's been here. Plus, frosh sharpshooter Courtney Weibel has been playing pretty well and knocking down a lot of perimeter shots.  If Erin would be living up to the potential she had coming in her frosh yr, her and Krystal Ellis would be carrying this team to a decent NCAA bid. But w/ the team's youth, there's been inconsistency.  Next year this women's team should be very good.

Those pictures are awesome.  I really liked that picture of the Pitt player going in for a layup.  Real nice shot.  Well done.

It's understandable if she isn't living up to her potential this year.  I'm sure her thoughts aren't always on basketball.

I know all about that, and I have been there.  I'm talking about her whole career.
