Nothing but class

He can be annoying at times but he is a great ambassador for the Big East.

Honestly, he might be my favorite coach in the Big East now that Jay Wright retired. He can be obnoxious, but he owns it.

Hurley seems like a good guy — a great basketball mind who can read a room.  He knows he beat Marquette without their best player and admitted he got lucky with the scheduling.

I also had no idea he coached Cubillan and Burke.  That’s pretty cool and it makes sense why he respects our fanbase.

Let’s hope UConn can keep him.  The Big East will be better for it.

Hurley respects the Big East, Marquette, and Shaka.   Apparently, the UConn scout includes health, talking about the flu bug and Chase's energy level.    I think he respects and admires MU more than some MU fans.   Plus, he has the coach's perspective on injuries.
Emphasized taking away the 3 pt line, staying home on shooters.
I liked his Mahomes analogy.

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

@BenSteeleMJS

Danny Hurley said he did not like Cam Spencer talking trash to Marquette bench.

Says he respects #mubb too much. Other programs ... he doesn't mind when Spencer does that.

I'm sure - but that group is matched by a similarly sized group at UCONN and every other school.  Scoop isnt Marquette and at events I've never seen our collective alumni base more thrilled with the program and Shaka at the helm.  We shouldnt be discouraged by a few idiots.

Frenns

I agree that the vast majority of MU fans are behind the program. Sadly, I think a nice sized group dwell on past tournament success for both Shaka and MU. I talk MU basketball with a lot of people of all ages and there definitely is a nice group that are either negative in general or have expectations that do not match reality.

There are few on scoop with higher expectations than me, but I also understand how difficult it is to meet those expectations. Some people simply do not understand or believe that a culture of winning at a high level at MU has been built in warp speed. Truthfully, I do not care what others think about the program because I always try to listen to smart people and Hurley falls very high in the camp.

Hurley is sometimes tough to take.  But he holds no punches, says what he wants, and we listen.  This was first class all the way and you walk away thinkng he really meant what he said.  Kody’s
