That was pretty predictable, and it's the wise course of action.

Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Agreed. Really puts a damper on what could've been one of the best games of the season...and TK and Oso's last in Milwaukee.

I still expect them to win against Uconn even without Kolek. I don't see them playing Kolek in the BET either.

Nor should they unless he's darn close to 100%.

That's 3 intense, physical games in a span of about 50 hours. If the ultimate goal is a national title - as it should be for this group - then it's simply not worth the risk.

Hmm... at least. Until we see him play no way to know if this is a repeat of last season.

CountryRoads

The release of that info seems somewhat strategic as a sort of PSA to the committee to not count these games against us.

With the bad luck this team has had injury wise, I'd play Norman, Lowery, and Al 30 minutes a piece in that BET game. Get ready for NCAA.

NickelDimer

Beating UConn without him would be so awesome. Get well TK!

Marquette has the guys to win both the remaining regular season games. My thought process it that because its not a season ending injury Kolek can choose when to come back and just take pain killers.

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

No need to rush back.  Even if Marquette drops to a 3 seed, getting Kolek healthy is the main concern.

That said, hopefully Tyler is ready to go by the NCAAs.

Sucks

But ... please... for the love of all things
Holy, let him be 100% to practice before and play in NCAAT

zcg2013

Get healthy and now TK will also have fresh legs. Injuries suck, but there's still time to get healthy.

Diener, Jerel, Dom, Tyler twice now with late season injuries. Moirai hates us!

Ehhh.

I'm torn. If he's physically not able...then ya...I'd hold him out.

However, if he's able, I'd at least get him some run. It'd be nice to have his 1st return to action not be a must win. Playing in a Big East Tournament game would give him a tune up.

Wish I shared your optimism.

All that matters in the NCAA. Feel badly he likely is missing his last game at the FF, but bigger fish to fry.

GoldenWarrior11

Very unfortunate.  Even if at 100% (which is probably unlikely) come NCAAT, that's several weeks of not playing before playing the most important basketball of the season.

Wishing him a full and speedy recovery.

Define "able."

Play him before the NCAAT if he's 100%. Don't play him if he's not. Pretty simple.

He'll have the first-round NCAAT game to get a "tune up." If we lose to a 15 or 14 seed, we're not as good as most of us think we are.

Shaka's had some pretty bad injury/illness luck in March since leaving VCU.

Never makes me feel good when I see "will be reevaluated" in a couple weeks.

I think we all know this teams ceiling is Phoenix...but that doesn't mean they couldn't slip up in a game where Kolek is trying to find his groove.

That Xavier game could end up being the difference in a 2 seed or 3 seed. Hopefully we can pull that one off.
