Stevie because he set the tone but Ben was great too.

Every single guy who got minutes did some positive things.

There's the best case ever for co-studs... Stevie and Ben.
If there must be only one, Stevie.

Ben was all over the court in the first half. Best game at MU.

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

Stevie

Set the tone early. Locked down Carter and scored some early buckets. Game was essentially over at 25-4.

brewcity77

I'm going Stevie. Hyper-efficient, great defense set the tone for the game. Honorable mention to Ben, who is repeatedly diminishing my worries about the 5 next year.

Though I'd be happy with Ben, I'll go Stevie.
His D on Carter prompted one of the greatest lines I've heard from Raf:

"He's had a rough night, but he's still playing with dignity."

Interesting choice, but given Stevie's activity on both ends of the court when Marquette took firm control of the game, he's the one.

I continue to be very impressed with Gold's improvement.

This is the Gold we've been waiting to see.

I see a huge parallel to Oso on the defensive end. Oso was awful as a freshman and even into his sophomore year. Then started playing really well near the end of sophomore year. Same with the foul situation. Ben is starting to foul less just as Oso did.

We tend to think more of player development at the offensive end, but we have seen growth by Ben (and the rest of the team) as well. Tonight was a clinic - especially in the 1st half when it mattered.

Stevie Mitchell or Ben Gold for SOTG
Honorable Mentions Tyler Kolek and Jonah Lucas again

Dr. Blackheart

Stevie for bitch slapping the East Coast POY.  This is Our House

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Stevie

Could give honorable mentions to almost everyone. Ben for his defense, Kolek for 12 points/6assists in only 18 minutes of play, Chase for three threes and his usual bear trap D, Norman for finally finding his confidence, Kam for being the leading scorer, Lucas for being a walk on who scored. Lots of love to go around.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Stevie played an awesome game, but I vote for Gold who had his best game at MU and took a big step up on the defensive end.

tower912

Both Ben and Stevie played the way they have been recently.   But there was no other player taking over the game and dominating.

Stevie.

Everyone was good, no one stood out over the balance of the team for the entire game.

I would go with Stevie, because he set the tone early and was the guy that keyed the run that gave us the big early lead that we never gave back.

And there are still people in the Marquette fandom who don't appreciate how good Mitchell is

Going into the season I thought Stevie was the key to success. My hope was he would get to 10+ points a game and become a dual threat. His offense has taken him to the next level over the past two months.

Him and Kam cooking?  Good luck stopping that offense consistently.
