Just realized it's a Monday day game.  Hope all you local fans can show up for a MLK daytime game.  The team needs you!

DoctorV

Sounds like a brutal storm coming.

Could be a tough game to pack in.

Another challenging home game looms imo.

Win any way.

This is a serious thread?

Yes, I'd rather forget the game I just watched.  And wanted to remind you Milwaukeeans that you need to be up early on Monday to support the team.  Check you ticket stub bro.

Rocky, I have 2 extras if you want to fly in and go!...lol

Lemme check flights.  I just might!  But would only need 1.

We bought tix for this game specifically because it was a day game.
Going to be a cold ride up I-94, though driving through the snow last night after the game was no fun. Saw one car that had done a 180 and was facing us on the left shoulder. At least we drove out of it around the state line.

Time to "wright" the ship.

This season has been full of important games and and Monday's is another. It is a game MU needs to salvage its regular season expectation. This might be the most adversity we've faced under the Shaka regime.

This is a good team. A very good team. A lot of posters here seem to be forgetting that we were a 75 ft heave away from being ranked the #1 team in the country by virtue of beating the other top-2 teams. Tyler Kolek is a good basketball player. A very good basketball player. He's one of only 11 All-American warriors - in the company of Markus, Wade, Butch, Bo, Jim and Dean. Oso is still Oso. Kam has skills. Stevie is a menace on Jop can hit some clutch shots. This team is not fools' gold. The injuries and Ben's regression hurt, no doubt, but the freshman have shown flashes of promise - they can step up in some key situational roles.

I don't have any idea what's going on with TKO or the rest of the team. None of us does. But I do know whether its on or off court issues, there is no one I would rather have coach and mentor these guys than Shaka.

I'm nowhere near ready to write off this season and while Monday's game is huge, regardless of what happens, I won't write of this season until the final whistle of the last game blows. If we crash and burn from here there will be plenty to analyze over the summer. But I think Shaka gets us back on track Monday against a quality opponent.

I like it 1se.  Do not want last year to be lightening in a bottle. Looking forward to this game.  Whatever is going on, whether it be on or off the court I agree that Shaka can fix it.   Kolek and Kam look like Rocky after he lost to Clubber Lang.  Glazed over.

Nobody is forgetting what MU did last year and in November.

But the team that has played in December and January is not a top 25 team. So, nobody knows what direction the team will take, and that direction could be pretty disappointing.

The next two opponents are significantly improved over last year's versions and have shown that they are capable of beating good teams, much less teams that can't make 20% of their 3 point shots. With Ross and S Jones out the team doesn't have the depth to fall back on the defense that has kept it in some games.

I don't know what to expect on Monday. I am hoping for a better performance and a win, but I'm having a hard time feeling confident about it as a team that is already struggling tries to fit two freshmen with minimal big game experience into the rotation.

Facing the reality of what the team has shown is a far cry from giving up on the season.

Agree Wisblue.  Have no idea how they will fare Monday. Weird feeling that I had been cleansed of last year.  A good team comes out and wins at home.  A team sinking like a rock does not.  We will find out.

While I mostly share your optimism, can we retire the narrative of "we were a 75 ft heave away from being ranked the #1 team in the country."

Because we lost that game for a bazillion reasons other than one shot that went in with 20 minutes to play.

I second this.

It's the same with some comments that were made about the Seton Hall game.

Assuming that the entire rest of  a game, , especially the last part of the game, would play out exactly the same if one play much earlier in the game had gone differently is, IMHO, inherently flawed logic.

If we want to talk about "what ifs" we could just as easily talk about what MUs position would be today if they hadn't pulled out the win in the last minute over what is turning out to be a terrible UCLA team. A loss in that game would have meant a bad loss on the resume, a meaningless win over Chaminade, and a game against Gonzaga which, even if they had won, would have sent them from Maui with a lot poorer resume than they have today.

Yes, butterfly effect and all.

The point was we really.played a very good.game against Purdue that we easily could have won had a few things bounved our way. We have been playing very poorly the past 5 or 6 games (CU expected - and GU - doesn't tell us much).

Point is, this teams ceiling is still what it has always been. I don't know if Shaka will get us all.the way there, but I'm very confident this is the nadir of the season.

Well, we have lost 2 of our top 7 players, guys we were counting on a lot, 1 of whom had been contributing quite a bit lately. So it's not an excuse but it is a fact to be dealt with when considering if our ceiling is the same.

Maybe after considering it, you believe it is the same. I'm gonna go with I hope it's the same as I thought it was going in: a national championship. Our team's got a lot of improving to do to make that hope become reality, but then again plenty of other teams (and their fans) are saying the same thing.

Our next game is our most important

While every conference game is important, this one seems to me a pivotal game. Lose again at home and it will be a tall order to get to .500 in BE play. Quite a few road games coming up. Just saying.

Was that donation by D Wade or in honor of D Wade in his name?

Pretty sure it is DWade and his sister. Donation is $3 million for his literacy program. Some of it goes to the new practice facility (estimated at $90 million), and his name is on the practice court.

I must have missed the announcement regarding the new practice facility...upgrading The Al?  Brand new building?
