Stevie was pretty amazing yesterday.  I am really happy to see him finish with confidence on his drives and on fast breaks.  Keep it up Stewie!

He is getting into the lane easily.  He is finishing around the basket with either hand.  He is even starting to look for others.    Keep going, young man.

It's a huge boost to the ceiling of this team, imo. Seeing him turn into a weapon that can keep the defense honest (and his affinity for being a lull-breaker) is amazing. It's been a fun ride to watch him take a leap this year.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

I agree.

I've been skeptical of Stevie in the past but he's definitely leveled up on offense. He's gone from defensive specialist to a really good two way player.

He seems to be front rimming the floaters so far.  When that goes in it will add another dimension to his offensive repertoire.

He very confidently stepped into an early-in-clock 3 yesterday and drained it. He's really having a heck of a run for Stevie, and we all hope it continues.

I know 99.69% of people here love Stevie.  But since we've been hit with some injuries these are his numbers over the last 6 games:

10.8 PPG
4.7 RPG
3 SPG(!!!!) And that's with 0 vs DePaul
FG%: 55.8%
3%: 41.7% (5/12)

Big time contributions and as we all know his value isn't remotely measured by these stats.

For those of us that don't partake in per game averages...

121 ORtg, 69.6 efg%, 4.5 or%, 14.1 dr%, 5.7 stl%

Ps Oso's got silly stats in calendar 24. 135 ORtg, 66.7 efg%, 11.3/16.3 reb%s, 23% usage, 21% ast rate, 11% to %, 5.6 blk%, 2.2 stl %. No treys tho :(

I say a lot of nonsense crap, but shortly after SJ22's injury we were discussing Zaide and Tre stepping in and stepping up and it dawned on me that the biggest silver lining could be Stevie's transformation offensively.

He was just coming back from his own injury and looking his elite self defensively, and was starting to look a bit more comfortable offensively.
His hand has been forced, and oftentimes that's what it takes for a guy like Stevie to come out of his so to speak offensive shell.

It's not easy when you've got elite scorers all around you and you watch yourself clank three after three for months, it's much easier for the doubts to creep in.
That said, there were tall tales of his offensive abilities and we are starting to see some of the capabilities.

This team needs Stevie to be more aggressive offensively, and Stevie needs Stevie to do so as well.
His drives to the hoop with the ability to score have been a breath of fresh air.
Hopefully the outside shot continues to follow suit, even if at a low 30s clip just to keep defenses honest.

The bad news is that I still think he needs to channel his inner Kam some more on those drives to the hoop- several of his drives are so strong that the layup seems to go up very strong too and seems to almost miss, but it hasn't missed much yet.
Add a little more finesse/creativity on the finish and he will be cookin.

I understand I'm slow to respond to the conversation. Against Seaton Hall Mitchell got knocked down attempting a lay up and got off the floor, picked up the ball and put it back in. It was the epitome of determination. Everyone needs to learn a lesson. Never quit, never say I did enough.

This might be the best example of all.  It's one of my favorite moments from yesterday's win.

The players called "dung" had a nice night.

That late lay up was insane.

I have no idea how he made that. Off hand, falling away from the hoop, from like 6 feet out, not a layup right at the rim. I would've tried throwing up a prayer and it would've gone over the backboard. He put it on the square with touch as if it was an uncontested layup.

It gave me a cramp watching it! Like Stevie, I needed a refreshment at the next break.

On those late free throws, I had a premonition. He was standing at the line for so long it reminded me of a game not long ago when the same thing happened and he clanged FT's. He's basically freezing the kicker - he should move off the FT line and only come back when they are ready to give him the ball.

Marquette NIL store is selling Stevie "Glue Guy" merch, but unfortunately for them, it is already outdated.

Mrs legs received a Stevie championship blue hoodie yesterday for her birthday to go with her gold Stevie jersey. Yes, I continue to be concerned.

Speaking of concern, Mrs legs asked if he was all good after his little foot/ankle tweak right at the end the game - it seemed minor and I haven't heard anything. Anyone?

I thought they mentioned it was just cramp.

Only 8 points.   No credit for guarding a guy who is sick.  #sad.
