Thankful that guy is back on the court

mileskishnish72

He is one guy that never quits, never gives up. He's a pisser.

Daniel

Was great tonight.  Never talks a play off on either end of the court

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Easily the best performance of the night.

TAMU

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

tower912

Yes.   And he did it limping to the scorers table and trying to loosen up his leg.

If you don't appreciate Stevie, you don't know ball.

The ultimate glue guy, and his three is looking better.

Loved the TO when he snuck behind Dixon.

Loved the TO when he snuck behind Dixon.

It was awesome watching that develop - he was just lurking, trying not to leave his guy open under the hoop, and waiting for the right moment.  Great instincts.

MuggsyB

He was excellent today.

I mean, that's the indisputable truth. I'm embarrassed for those who actually thought Shaka might bench him.

Stevie is just plain fun to watch hoop.  His anticipation on the defensive end is unbelievable.

Yes, when Richmond took him down on the block, it went poorly.

Often overlooked is the job he does fronting the post when switching with Oso.   Did a respectable job against Edey.   Did a good job today against Dixon.

Just awesome today. At one point well into the game, my son says to me wow he is affecting the game so much and look at his line, all zeros except for fouls. That didn't last long after he said that, AND Stevie kept up the defensive intensity. It rubbed off on Jop, on Gold, on Tyler. What a performance by the unsung, Stevie Mitchell.

One of my sons plays high school basketball and we were having a similar conversation.  It is extremely fun to watch him effect/control the game from that side of the ball.

Jockey

I thought his 3 steals in the first 3:30 of the 2nd half turned the game around.

...there were games early on that Stevie's shooting was a significant negative. Still is, at times. What was he from 3 at one point, 2-20? Stevie plays great D, for sure...and I'm happy for his excellent game today. But I admit I was hoping Shaka started Chase after Maui.
