Every coach in the nation would kill to have a Stevie on their squad.  He's integral to our success and has improved every season.

Bump.

Against a top 10 opponent:

Incredible defense. Unrelenting hustle. 21 points.

MU24

He's so steady and reliable. Always goes hard.

I can't think of another player that was so steady in recent memory. besides Kolek.

I mean, Kam.

But Stevie is awesome.

BLWarrior91

I love that Stevie is being more assertive in offensive this year.  He is showing that he can get to the rim, make buckets, get fouled, and knock down free throws.  His stroke from beyond the arc looks much improved from last year.

He just makes this team better with all of the things he does.

Lennys Tap

Stevie has always given us toughness and intangibles essential to our success, but this year he has kicked it up multiple notches. Always fearless on D, now he's fearless on both ends. Couldn't happen to a more deserving guy!

Daniel

Stevie was fantastic in all aspects of the game tonight and completed the assist Kam needed for the Triple Double - how sweet is that!

MuggsyB

I thought Stevie's 4 straight free throws were the two biggest plays of the game after Purdue cut it to 5.

Wonder if the UConn board still thinks Shaka should have upgraded Stevie

mileskishnish72

Bummer that Kam had the trip-doub. Was this the career high for Stevie with 21?

I don't think so. I wonder if that clown on the Purdue board that thought Tyler's last name was Kovak will remember that Kam is spelled with a K after tonight.  ;D

Yes.  He's also been 17 / 18 / 21 the last 3 games.  We don't need to be pleasantly surprised anymore when he goes for 15+.

Tyler COLEk

His scoring is still driven by awesome efficiency under the rim, but he's had some eye-opening athletic drives these past few games.

He's so strong and so good with the ball. There's times he's doing little dribbling around up high. Then starts to maneuver his way inward. Next thing you know he's shot faking at the rim going up for a point blank shot or foul.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

My Purdue buddy that I've been chatting with tonight made reference to Koatrack, rather than Kolek. So I replied saying that it looked like Purdue was missing their 2-time POY Edith. He thought it was autocorrect, missing my jab at him. Ha, on him.

manny31

Seems like Stevie has gone from a hustle/glue guy to a guy that kills you with his defense(no secret) and sneaks up on you offensively.

GB Warrior

Stevie completed maybe the most romantic triple-double in NCAA history

After watching Stewie as a freshman - who had him as possibly the 2nd leading scorer on the team as a senior?

No one?

tower912

I have been on the Stevie wagon since the UNC game that ended his freshman year.   Second leading scorer?  Why not?  It is early yet, so it may not  continue.  Double digit scoring average?  Abso-freakin-lutely.   Gets to the rim a lot, makes his free throws, improved 3 pt shooter.

In Kam's postgame after Purdue, he mentioned how thankful he was for Stevie...how Stevie was the leading scorer of the UAA Circuit in high school yet he came to Marquette and accepted his role as a disruptor and glue guy.

He is much more than a glue guy now. IMO he is the whole pencil bag full of all the school supplies you can think of.

What?

GoldenEagles03

Quote from: wadesworld on November 21, 2024, 10:06:43 AMWhat?

He's got it all. He could score 5 and shut down the other teams best like the typical Stevie. He could grab 10 boards and make a key stop, or he could light you up for 20 and have a late bucket to seal the game.

He's not just a glue guy anymore. He's the total package. A star.
