OSO's missed bunnies at the rim
« on: January 07, 2024, 08:52:07 PM »
What can the coaching staff do to improve OSO's percentage at the rim?  His mid key hooks and floaters are almost automatic but too often he can't put in when he's right on top of it.   I think he missed 4 bunnies in a row yesterday, and no it was not an off game for him in that regard.  It's extraordinarily frustrating to watch him constantly fail to put it in when he's literally at the basket, despite his overall very high FG % age.

Kam needs to finish harder to the rim when he beats someone all by the baseline.  He gets blocked a lot.  He either needs to get the layup, draw a foul, or both.

He missed a couple, but his 9/14 wasn't the problem. Far more worried about the trend we're seeing from Kam.

There are a number of things to fix, but if Oso makes a quarter of those shots, we win. Period.

11-14 is better than 9-14.    But the backcourt was the issue, not Oso's 22-8.

A lot of Oso's makes Saturday were uncontested in transition.  Kam's recebt struggles is a bigger issue but this team needs to be WAY more efficient in our half-court offense.  Now yes, some of it is missing point blank shots and threes; but the fluidity hasn't been there.  At least not with any consistency.  Why?  Lots of dribbling and hesitation.  Being mind warped by the sag for some reason and teams focusing on our two man p & r.  Not exhibiting poise and confidence and taking asinine shots.  These are some of the reasons.

We need to wake the H up Scoopers. Saturday's loss was extremely disappointing and in my book inexcusable.   Our focus and intensity must be kicked up MULTIPLE levels for us to get to where we need to be.  You can all wax poetic about my hyperbolic nature but the truth is there are some concerns and we must get our act together.  The talent is there, the desire is there, the coaching and preparedness is there, fans are fully engaged, etc, etc, etc.   It's time to get out mojo back and take control of the situation.  There should be total confidence and zero hesitation seizing the top of the BEast starting Wednesday.  End of discussion.

I wake up pretty early every day.

And I'm shocked - shocked, I say! - that you found the loss to be inexcusable. I hope you've chosen a new coach in the thread Rico started.

I could never dunk, and my three point shot isn't what it used to be, and at 63 I can't really run the court. I'm definitely out!
