Creepy and cringe-worthy embarrassing for sure. That said, had the tables been turned, I guarantee you that no Marquette fan would've taped the Illinois fan and then posted to TMZ, I mean BarStool.

Also, as a law student at Illinois, I was ready to be a fan of Illini sports, but on more than one occasion at 🏈 and 🏀 games, I was seated near some of the worst kind of people. Screaming constant epithets at the refs, frequently and vociferously putting down their own players, blaming the NCAA for everything, etc.

My father served 30+ years in state government in Springfield, so he had every reason to be an Illinois fan, yet when he went to a basketball game with me he leaned over and said quietly, "Geez, I see what you mean." Yet, he absolutely loved going to MU games with me, and always said that Wisconsin people are some of the friendliest in the world, and that Marquette games really seemed like a celebration with family. I couldn't agree more.

Just as I know that these Illini "fans" did not represent the entirety of U of I fandom, Illinois fans should know that the creep show at last night's game doesn't represent Marquette. The fringe of Scoop, maybe 😬.

Chances are this guy was creepy, but I do want to throw an alternative.  My daughter is a dancer.  She wants to be on college dance team and perhaps even a pro sport dance team some day.  She has asked me when I've been at games about dance team performances.  I have recorded them in the past to show her.  Now this guy looked like he was going from cheerleader to cheerleader and zooming in so maybe not the same thing.  That said, I've never even considered me recording dance performances at sporting events to be creepy as my intent was to be able to show my daughter at home.   Guess I will need to reconsider this.
