Instate tuition back in the 70's couldn't be passed up 😁
Allegiance will always lie with the Warriors of course. Heading down for the game, haven't seen the campus in probably close to forty years.

So he's an alum. You literally described an alum. You don't need to graduate to be an alumnus, you just need to have attended the school.
