Amazingly, they had won 9 of 10 entering tonight.  Thought they had turned a corner but woof.

VT 75 Virginia 41

UVA sucks.

Nothing amazing about beating up on those bums.

I said it was amazing.  Should have used a better word.  They were still a bubble team.  But it’s better to win 9 out of 10 than go 5-5 like seemingly the rest of the league.

Do we want Houston or Iowa St?

Houston is better for us but Iowa St still has some equity with me due to their win over the UW in Milwaukee a few years back. I was at the game and they caused a lot of Walmart badger tears which is never a bad thing to see.

These two teams are pretty similar.  They foul a lot.

Houston is a physical team.  Only flaw on defense is fouling.  Probably best defensive team in the land.

If they could shoot, they’d have a case as the favorite but they can’t

How they are officiated in the tournament will be interesting.  They're a very good defensive and rebounding team but I see a lot of contact on and off the ball.

They get so many extra possessions because they’re such a great rebounding team.  Has to be frustrating playing them and the backcourt is fantastic.  Capable of winning it all but I’d be more concerned about a bad shooting night knocking them out than how the officials call a game.

Iowa State isn’t a great offense.  Can’t see them hanging around tonight if they get too far behind

I think Marquette would handle Iowa State.  Houston is a different animal.  Would take a really good game but doable.

MU is 48-13 over the last two seasons.   Taken down some big names and competed toe to toe with others.   MU is not a scrappy underdog, team bubble watch, or a feel good story.    MU may not win, but MU has to fear very few on a neutral floor.

I find it disappointing that you need to point out the MU resume over the past two seasons. I have used that logic to multiple people over the past two months and have given up. For the record, MU will be difficult out for far more teams than I am concerned about them playing.

UVA sucks.

When they lost to ND, I knew this wasn't one of Bennett's better teams.

Yep, it gets tiresome. The Eeyore Quotient is strong here.

I don’t think there was a “need” to point out the MU resume.

I didn’t see any recent comments that said that there were multiple teams MU couldn’t beat. Any statement that there are a lot of teams that could give MU trouble or “frustrate” them is simply a statement of fact. They are more realistic than any statement that MU “should” make the Final Four (and there was one of those a few days ago).

Maybe the Eeyore Radar is a little too sensitive.

Take a look back at the predictions made in December for MU’s Big East record, and it should be obvious that the “Eeyores” are a distinct minority.

Actually I was not disagreeing with your opinion.

I was disagreeing with Goose’s opinion that you “needed” to post it.  :)
