The only other addition from last year of any significance is Blackwell. The returning guys are virtually the same as last year, with Essegian and Hepburn worse. Their offensive team efficiency has improved dramatically over last year which is obviously almost entirely thanks to Storr.  They were in the 100’s last year and recently were in the top 10.

Players get better year to year. Teams grow year to year. You saying they literally only improved because of Storr is batsh it. Are they way worse defensively this year because of Storr then? All his fault?

Again, Storr himself got better from last year. Crowl is much better this year. Entered the game with a eFG% of 62. His career is 55%.

Klesmit? Much better

Wahl? Easily his best season

Crowl offensive rating this year versus last:  124.9 vs. 109, doubling his offensive rebounding from last year

Wahl offensive rating this year versus last: 117 vs. 93, effective fg% of 56.5 vs. 43.9 last year

Hepburn offensive rating this year versus last: 106.2 vs 98.3, can’t shoot but is shooting less.  He still stinks

Klesmit offensive rating this year versus last: 120 vs. 106, effective fg% is 61.9 vs. 53

Team is better offensively across the board.  It isn’t just Storr

But the statement that the Badgers, who were two games ahead of Purdue at the time, needed to sweep Purdue to win the league title is factually inaccurate.

That two game lead, which included a road win over MSU, put them in a plum position.

In 2021-22, Marquette was a middle-of-the-pack Big East team. We lost our only two double-figure scorers, our top two rebounders, our best shot-blocker and our second-best 3-point shooter. The only additions were not-5-star freshmen Chase Ross, Sean Jones and Ben Gold.

Did Ross, Jones and Gold make them virtually by themselves the 2022-23 Big East regular-season and tournament champions?

If they keep giving up 99 points to teams like Butler, we will be. KenPom currently has them only favored by 1. If we win our next 6 (which includes at UConn) and they go 4-3 in that stretch (what they're currently projected to do per KenPom), we will likely be favored.

Yes, the most obvious recent example being Alabama over Houston for the overall top seed last year. The Cougars had the metric advantages, but Alabama had a H2H win on Houston's court and landed the top seed.
