I hope we avoid Nebraska in the brackets for no other reason than the fact that they have never won an NCAA Tournament game. The basketball World will be rooting for them.

Wait what? I read Scoop and didn’t bother turning it on. I thought the game was over by 7:40 PM central time.
BADgers were 120-0 since2002 when leading by 15+ at halftime.  They led by 16.  I can't recall the Nebraska stat but they were 0-60 or something like that when down by 15 at half.

No one beats Nebraska 61 times in a row when they're down 15 at the half.

What some dude wants to happen from his couch in El Paso will have zero bearing on us vs Nebraska.

The vibes in the arena will be heavy for Nebraska wherever they play. We wouldn't matchup with them until Rd. 2 anyways so they'd have that 1st win out of the way already, but even still...

If MU gets a top 2 seed, their second round game is guaranteed to be against a high quality opponent anyway.

If you are afraid of Nebraska in round 2 of the tourney.

We might as well not even accept the bid.

Anything is possible, but good lord thats about as good as you can get.

A non top 32 team in the final 32. A team that to date has 1 road win vs Kstate. And a neutral court win against freaking Oregon State. Thats it away from home.

And as good as they have been at home, they still lost by about a million to Creighton there as well.

I’m pretty certain I’d really like to see Wisconsin on the 3 line if Marquette gets a 2, or on the 2 line if Marquette gets a 3.

Would be a really cool game if both teams got there.

9-1 or better should do it.

I will be cheering for UW to lose in the first round no matter where they are in the bracket.

Oh, No!  How will this affect Marquette's NET and other computer rankings?!

Flagrant 2, ejected, likely suspended.  I can picture a misdemeanor assault charge thrown in.  Wait and see how it plays out.

I hope Shaka is concerned with the full season and not a single game.

I used to obsess over Wisconsin. The game means very little though. We aren’t often losing recruits to UW, and they aren’t often losing them to us. I can’t think of a case where Wisconsin caused Marquette to miss the Tourney, or even cost MU a seed line.
…however, I think you’ll agree, gotta beat your rivals. ND, UW, whoever. Gotta beat your rivals.

Well no. If by "gotta" you mean its the end of your season otherwise, you don't. That's wade's point.

If you mean its fun to have bragging rights, then sure.

I would  love to see MU play Nebraska in the second round.

For starters that would mean MU won its first round game, which is never a given. Then they would be playing a middling team from a major conference (which describes most of the teams in the 6-11 seed range) that hasn’t yet won a conference road game.

It's not really contrarian. You obsess about Wisconsin more than anyone here. It seems like most view it as a game you want to win, but there are plenty of ways to have a successful season if you don't.

Last year was great even though we lost to them.

The one year with Henry was largely a disappointment even though we beat them.
