Villanova is going to be a handful on Monday.  That Hauser kid hot 5 threes I. The first half vs DePaul. They are playing very well .    Need out A game. Go Marquette!

This is a make or break game for me. we’re in big trouble if we come out flat in a pivotal game at home against a good team, after such a poor performance. Need to win emphatically.

Agree we need a win!  Dixon is a hand ful as well.   We need our A game.   VN tied for first in BEast at 4-1

I couldn't agree more.  I think it's a game that we absolutely have to get and potentially a barometer for the rest of the BEast schedule.

I agree… Monday is a must win.

If they can’t right the ship ( even with lots of adversity) … then this season may really be in the tank.  A loss makes them 2 - 4 going to SJU.   And right now one has to assume that’s a loss …

Could be another day of upsets. Tennessee down with few mins left. I have Houston losing to TCU and wouldn’t be surprised if Oklahoma beat Kansas

I will bet the top 2 teams in the Big Ten will not end up being Purdue and Wisconsin.

I still think Purdue finishes Top 2.

I have been impressed with Illinois without TSJ though. They have solid depth.

UW picks up their 6th consecutive win, 12 of 13.

Michigan State and Michigan are each 1-4 in league. Nebraska lost at Iowa after beating Purdue.

Purdue plays at Indiana on Tuesday. If they lose that game and go down 3 games to Wisconsin I don’t see them crawling out of it.

Congrats!

I'm certainly not one to congratulate. Grinds my gears. Just how they operate in the regular season.

I also cannot believe Lunardi has Michigan State as an 8 seed. That is unbelievable.

Purdue and Wisconsin play twice, so still a pretty clear path for Purdue to make up their deficit. And considering Indiana this year, I would be very surprised if they beat Purdue.

Brew, why do you think Lunardi has MSU as an 8 and you an 11? 8 seems incredibly lazy by him.

I think it's probably laziness and brand name recognition. Personally I think Gonzaga as a 9-seed non-autobid is even lazier. The Zags have no Q1 wins nor wins against the field.

But at this point, it gets really muddy around the 9 line. I was discussing with some other bracketologists today and there are teams you can argue being anywhere from the 6 line to completely out of the field depending on what you value. Looking at Michigan State, if you put a lot of emphasis on the Baylor, Butler, and Indiana State wins along with putting an emphasis on predictive metrics, I can see moving them up. For me, the overall record and quantity of losses is too egregious to have them that high.

I kinda have that worry with us. Losses getting up there fast. Thank goodness for those 3 Q1A's.

2 clutch free throws by Sheppard of Kentucky.

.5 seconds left in the game, down 2. He went to the line laughing and sunk em both.

OT.

Utah State won (although I checked ESPN earlier and it said they lost) but your point still stands

That was egregious reffing. If Sheppard was fouled, it was on the rebound and there should've been another full second on the clock. But putting the clock at 0.6 shows the "foul" was while he was in the act of shooting based on when it left his fingers and there wasn't anything remotely resembling contact on the shot.

Served Kentucky right that they lost by more in OT than they would've had Sheppard just missed the second FT.

Wild final sequence. Down 4, USU made a three and the refs whistled a foul elsewhere on the floor after the shot was off, so they gave two free throws. 5-point trip to give them the win. Danny Sprinkle is doing a hell of a job.

That foul was…questionable.

Damn ESPN! That's where I got the final from, too.

We regret the error, even if dooooomed, Emmy-lying ESPN doesn't.
