There seriously is no great team in college basketball this season,  at least none that has emerged yet.

Marquette is just as likely to win the title as any team in the country.

Old King Cole was a jolly old soul.... ;D

Disagree "as any team...." but yeah, agree that there is no team dominating college bball as of yet. It could be Marquette if (that all important word) the offense we showcased vs. Kansas resurfaces and we play defense like we did on Saturday.

Wild horses couldn't drag me into either political party, but for very different reasons.

Looks around….🫣…..Houston

Not a great schedule and the offense will be an issue but they good

Maybe. They have whooped inferior teams, but they had trouble with Texas A&M, Utah, and Xavier, none of whom are top-20 teams. Might they win the most B12 games since 2020 Kansas like kenpom projects? Possibly. But there are 4 B12 teams better than anyone they've faced so far (top-20) and 4 more in the top-40 that won't be easy outs.

If they treat the B12 like they did the American, I'll start to believe, but their non-con resume is weak, even if the results are decisive.

Sure, Houston’s good. Lots of teams are good. Marquette’s good.

There’s not a team I look at and say, “It would be a big upset for us to beat them on a neutral court in March.”

And I think I’m a realist.

Yup.  It may not happen.  But MU doesn't need to fear anyone.

Stanford did no such thing.  Sure, MU may move higher in the top 10 next week thanks to Arizona losing.   But MU's 'cause' is not next week's ranking.   MU's cause is wins in March.

The team just beat AZ in a double OT classic.  Now FAU loses and it’s a fraudulent program?

Final Four team last year.

Last year no matta. George Mason wasn't even close to being an NCAAT team in 2006-07. Neither was Loyola in 2018-19. St. Peter's sucked last season. We'll see where FAU is at the end of this season.

The team just beat AZ in a double OT classic.  Now FAU loses and it’s a fraudulent program?

Well, they also lost at home to mighty Bryant. So which was/were the fluke(s), the losses to shyte Bryant and FGCU, or the win over AZ? Maybe none was a fluke, and FAU is just another decent but flawed team. We'll see!

Preconcieved notions about which team is better.

Gonzaga has not done anything this season worthy of being ranked

I'm interested in how long ole miss and James Madison can stay undefeated. MS has TN away this weekend so it could end real soon but James Madison plays nobody...doubt they'll last but interesting to see.

With college basketball it's not about Frauds or not but emotion and fandom and hope and dreams and pain. Let FAU have their ride. The season has a way of sorting things out. And if some team over achieves, so be it.

Edey with a pedestrian 23 and 12 in a double digit win at Maryland.

UW scores 83 in a win against Iowa where they shot nearly 40 free throws.

The 2 clear best in the B1G.

Baylor approaching 50 points against Cornell in the 1st half in Game 1 in their new arena.

FAU struggled with ECU but pulled away late.

UNC handling Pitt.

A ton of Top25 action tonight.

Illinois is really good. Too bad what is happening with Shannon or they would be a real threat in the B1G.

Is he officially out for the season or is it possible an investigation will be completed relatively soon?

I don't think anything is official. No idea how long something like this takes to sort through. They aren't going to rush it, I know that much. Just a brutal situation.

It's strange to me that they apparently knew about this incident in Sept.

I will bet the top 2 teams in the Big Ten will not end up being Purdue and Wisconsin.

I'd be shocked if Purdue loses more than 3 games in league play.

So that takes care of one of the top 2 spots.
