Against a D that has allowed over 80 4 times already coming into today.

With their only good performance against South Alabama

Marquette got 45 points from anyone not named Kam Jones (or 34 from anyone not named Kam Jones or Tyler Kolek) a week ago against an unranked team that gave up 75 to Arkansas State and 80 to Tennessee.

What’s your point? They’ve now beat Gonzaga, Tennessee, Marquette, and Alabama on neutral courts. The idea that they aren’t a good college basketball team is absolutely wild.

That Purdue is not good.   As bad a serious basketball take as has been posted on scoop.

But what you quoted was exactly what I said

Good try though

I’ve heard Purdue would lose 9 out of 10 to DePaul. And they’d have cheated to win the one.

Huh?

All I have is to say that what you quoted was all factually correct??

If we are saying things are "serious". You were serious in quoting that

Yeah, they’re average at protecting the ball.  However, they’re 21st (early in the season caveat) in defensive effective fg%.  They can defend

On paper Purdue is absolutely a F4 threat and have been the last 2 seasons.  That said I don't trust them when it matters.  As far as "if they're aren't a threat, who is"?  That's a tough one to answer.  No one expected FAU and the Aztecs to be there last year.  My contention is that UCONN has the most overall talent and a chance to be dominant.  After them I don't see a team with that potential right now.  I haven't really watched Houston much or Baylor but among the top teams I think probably Zona and then MU have the highest ceilings after UCONN.  But my gut feeling is we could similarly have two surprise teams make the F4 like last year.

That crowd in Arizona is absolutely nuts right now

Best home court out West. Fan base love their hoops.

They are a solid team. Tough matchup

I don’t think it’s unfair to not trust Purdue.  Whole lotta season to go to find out.  I’m sure Purdue fans don’t trust Purdue, lol

I hate to admit it but Blackwell has a ton of potential for the Rodents.  Hopefully he transfers.

Wiscy is phoning it in on defense.   They know they are beaten.

Arizona is really good.  All credit to them and they do have a ton of firepower.  IMO, Wiscy looks like they know they are beaten on defense.

Arizona vs Purdue next weekend.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but there is just something that I don't love about watching Purdue, like this feeling that Painter constantly holds the reins too tightly.  They are a very good team and he's a great coach who is gonna win 800+ games in West Lafayette unless he has health issues.  But I just don't ever find myself rooting for them in neutral games.

I think it comes down to pace.  They don't broadcast/scream slow tempo like UW or UVA, but they are pretty consistently averaging under 70 possessions a game.  So you have a bunch of offensive talent that could get up and down and easily average 80+ a game, but Painter is content to keep that around 70 PPG.  They are the quintessential score 55-60 by the under 12 TO in the second half, and then finish at 72 points if they are leading by 5-10 and just burn the end of games in boring fashion.  Its inflated this year cause of the OT game and the high scoring/low defense opponents over the last few games, but it will creep down all year, especially in the B10, to that level again

Its not fun to watch, IMO, and is the sort of style that is susceptible in March as we've seen many times with them and other similar teams.

I think it is the puke gold color of their uniforms.

Gonzaga just lost.  MU could conceivably move up to #6 but at worst will be #7.
