I didn't make it myself, but a friend shared this with me from the practice and I really like it. Good time to target your most dedicated fans. Well done by Marquette.

Anyone that went have additional takeaways?

Pictures make the crowd look very light.  I hope they continue to have multiple open practices in future years so I can get to them when the kiddo's are a bit older!

I would guess a solid 500 made its way through...

Remember this was the first time that MU has done two events practice/scrimmage at Fiserv. About 200 people last night. Less in years past, guess the folks picked to go to Fiserv on Oct. 7th.

Good event. Team really pushed it hard last night. I enjoyed Shaka on the mic. Many times he forgot to shut if off and you got some clear yelling going on. Q&A part at the end is my favorite of the event with the players. Shaka last message to the crowd was it's super important to fill up Fiserv Forum. If you can't make it, please make sure to give your tickets away to someone who can use them. We believe and want to expose MU basketball and this team to many people as we can.
If we are all thinking alike, we're not thinking at all. It's OK to disagree. Just don't be disagreeable.

Rain was predicted last night and it did start raining in some parts of Milwaukee at 5:00 pm and rained off and on all evening. I'm  sure this effected the turnout, especially if you had kids.

Um, the practice was held INDOORS.  Not sure why a little drizzle would affect that at all.
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

Because the MU fan base is soft.

I think many people went to the Sat scrimmage instead. It is probably easier for people to go to a Saturday event than a 6pm weeknight (less traffic on Saturday). I personally know 5 other STH that were working till 530 last night and could not make it. Rain or no rain, I could not leave at 445-5pm to deal with traffic even if I wanted to due to work.

I am a long time season ticket holder. Truth be told, the only one of these pre-season events I ever attended was the one open practice the first season at Fiserv. This includes Madness, Fish Fry, etc. And the reason for that was to see Fiserv.

To me, 500 sounds like a solid number as a result. The NIL pinch angle is interesting and can explain why Engagement wanted me to attend. I prefer the Coach/AD events personally. I think the Cords Era did a better job with these throughout the season holding them periodically including on the road. Different strokes...

Kids melt in the rain?
