Ladies and fans deserve better than this.  The event has grown leaps and bounds the last decade.  Treat it like the major event it is.

So, they weren't ready for large, energetic crowds.   That is unfortunate.   As much as we all love golf in the British Isles, I would say the biggest lesson is to hold these events places where the weather is summer-like in September.    In the US, the trick is to play it somewhere warm, not in a hurricane zone, where it won't be overshadowed by football.
