Solheim Cup
« on: September 18, 2023, 05:44:51 AM »
This is why this competition is held in years away from the Ryder Cup.   Alas.

Anyway, I hope Lexi and Danielle can find their games.    I hope that Rose can be the fairway and green machine she showed a couple of months ago.   That Corpuz can be as unflappable as she was at Pebble.

Like the men, I think the Euros continue their streak.

I wouldn’t play Lexi until Sunday
Tis a shame, 'tis a rotton shame, for if ye can enjoy the walkin’ ye can probably enjoy the other times in yer life when ve're in between. And that's most o' the time; wouldn't ye say?

Too bad they couldn’t have lost Lexi

US ladies are definitely the underdogs heading into this event but I think they have a chance to win it.

Course is more American style than Euro style.  Europe’s Linn Grant mentioned how she spent time here last winter learning how to play the short game on Bermuda.

Team USA needs Nelly to be early 2022 Nelly and Lilia Vu to be the leaders.  No faith in Kang or Lexi.  Like Angel Yin and Ally Ewing this weekend as well.

To me, the wild cards are Rose Zhang and Megan Khang.  Megan’s Cup record isn’t great but she’s been playing great golf.  Chance for Rose to cement herself as the next great American player

It's time to take care of business.   Yes.  Vu and Korda must take the lead and take no prisoners.  Hopefully Rose steps up as well.

Putting Lexi and Danielle out in the first two matches is a choice.

Did not expect to wake up to a 4-0 lead.  What a start.  Afternoon split makes this a great day

Not sloppy.  Vicissitudes.  Ebbs and flows.  The Europeans are playing better in the second session.   The USA isn't going to go 28-0.   It will inevitably tighten up.

They should get to 7.5 today imo.

It is.  And they’ll try.  They aren’t looking to offer mercy.

The Euros were favored and it is a road game for the USA.   Regression to the mean is inevitable.

Slow play plagues all levels and genders but LPGA and LET players ARE slow
