Anyone have one of these? Thoughts/opinions? Pros/cons?

Our traditional grill is on its last legs. Considering replacing with traditional vs a griddle

They are awesome.  But make sure you have a good cover if you get snow/inclement weather.  My friends who have them in Chicago/MKE say the worst part is cleaning/prepping them come springtime after the winter.

I bought a nice Weber, and replaced one of three grill grates with a flattop. Best of both worlds.  You can find something like this all over Amazon

GRISUN Grill Griddle for Weber Spirit 200/300, Spirit II 200/300 Series Grills, Cast Iron Griddle for Weber Genesis Silver B/C, Grill Griddle Accessories for Weber, Replacement for Weber 7658 https://a.co/d/20IPSlC

I believe you should have both, side-by-side

I love my BILs blackstone and they're on sale at Costco right now.  Four burner for $400.

Personally, I have a weber four burner with a enameled top that has lasted me years with very little maintenance needed.  Cleaning of course, and store in the garage over winter.  It has no signs of rust and nothing has stopped working.  I don't cover it when I don't use it... in the past I've covered grills and they've always fallen apart much faster, but ymmv.

I may look into what reinko has done and get myself a griddle portion for the weber.  As it stands I throw a cast iron flat griddle on top of the grills and it works alright for smash burgers etc.

Go for the trifecta

*Big a$$ grill
*pellet smoker
*flat top

I bought lodge cast iron griddle and use it on the smoker and the gas grill.

I just picked up the Weber Genesis 435.  Like others I've replaced part of the grades with a griddle.  The grill is big enough that I can leave in full time and now I have the best of both worlds.

Yup, I have the genesis as well, the grate over time develops a seasoning similar to cast iron pan.  Grilled veggies, smash burgers, will sear the hell out of steak...
