MU Fan in Connecticut

Here in Southern Connecticut the smell of smoke is awful and the sky has looked apocalyptic all day.  I can't imagine what it looks and smells like for those closer to the fires.
Anyone else experiencing today?

Difficult to tell the difference between foreign and domestic forest fires here in Michigan.   It appears the golf resorts in the Grayling area were spared this time.

Now that it is in the east coast, it will be the worst smoke ever.

These are from Quebec and Nova Scotia.  The smoke usually goes west to east but counter clockwise winds from a low pressure system are pulling south.  In 53 years, I've never seen period, neither does anyone else recall.

Ain't gonna happen.

I live 80 miles north of Palm Beach and it's as clear as can be here. No smoke.

Our smoke comes from the Everglades in dry years, which it has not been as of late here.

Vero?
I drove from Philly to Harrisburg Monday night and back yesterday. Air was thick with smoke. At night you could smell it. Day not so much.
Sunset in Philly yesterday.

It seems just as bad or worse today.  How long did it last in WI?  I was in for '83 reunion over the weekend, and it was clear in Milwaukee by then.

Yeah, still not funny.

You should ask nads for some help with your jokes.

That photo was yesterday and this morning's sunrise.
Per this afternoon's read. The smoke is expected to last weeks.

I think the ppm reading is lower than some emerging markets cities I've been to but the visibility is about as poor as I've experienced.

Curious if it blocked out the sun in the Midwest too?  I've only experienced that in India before.

The pictures I have seen reminded me of southern China 10+ years ago. It is funny because I never paid much attention during the work week but whenever I got back to the hotel on Friday late afternoon, I always noticed the reddish brown sky. Even though we work on Saturdays in China, that Friday afternoon sky always reminded me to try and enjoy the weekend because I survived another work week.
