Simply the best.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

About 25 years ago I took my mom to see Tina Turner after my father absolutely refused to go with her. Cyndi Lauper opened. Went in with zero expectations (probably dreading it a bit if I’m being 100% honest). Fantastic show. She never stopped moving.

Tina is one of my lifetime favorites, as I especially grew to enjoy song stylists. In this area Tina was yes, simply the best.

Song stylist...Examples for me: Tina, Rod Stewart, Frank Sinatra (Columbia years), Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, Ray Charles and Johnny Cash

Like many I was a Beetles fan, and enjoyed their cute little diddy called "Help"...then I saw Tina live in Houston do "Help" ...WOW...here is a video:

A completely different song/feel.

RIP Tina

Did ministers Dan and Steve overstep?

Kliph is an incredible Twitter follow.  He posts old letters-to-the-editors and stuff like this all the time to remind us the culture wars have been going on for decades.  It’s remarkable stuff

Ike and Tina were fantastic together on stage (as opposed to real life).  Ike was a blues man and a perfect musical partner for Tina.

And the Ikettes could dance circles around anybody.

Ike was also a drug addict and a serial wife beater. She did just fine on stage without her “perfect musical partner”.

A musician who was a drug addict? What will they think of next?

Lots of musicians with drug addictions. Most of them don’t become serial wife beaters. But yeah, Ike was cool.

I’m not sure we need an Ike Turner appreciation thread.

Everyone should have tremendous respect for Tina Turner.  She always brought her A game and passion for her craft.  When you are relentlessly focused on being on the top of your game good things happen.  May she rest in peace.
