I appreciate your sacrifice in the Dirty Dozen.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

Greatest Running Back Ever . Greatest Lacrosse Player ever.

Sat next to him on a plane in 1984 when he was thinking about making a return to NFL.

A great guy who did a lot in his later years building positive confidence for youth.

Won't touch the last statement, but a 48 year old Jim Brown was debating a return to the NFL 20 years after he retired?

Haha. Wonder if they were flying to Milwaukee with Quentin Grimes for his official visit at MU.

I remember the SI cover story about it. It mostly made me chuckle, though I woulda taken it more seriously if I had known that our own 9-9-9 was his inspiration.

Continuing the great tradition of MUFINY being everywhere, all the time, involved in everything. He was also in both the Twin Towers and the Pentagon on 9/11.

He was thinking of returning because he was appalled at the thought of Franco Harris breaking his rushing record.
Tis a shame, 'tis a rotton shame, for if ye can enjoy the walkin’ ye can probably enjoy the other times in yer life when ve're in between. And that's most o' the time; wouldn't ye say?

Oh I don’t think so. I just can’t give that label to a running back.

No, Walter Payton was closing in and that’s why he supposedly considered a return.
