Today is the Day
« on: March 17, 2023, 05:52:24 AM »
It's been 10 years since our last NCAA win, and we fired our last coach because of it. In two years under Shaka Smart, we have more Big East hardware than we'd won in our history. We've cut nets at the Fiserv and nets at Madison Square Garden. This is that special team.

Today is why Wojo is gone and Shaka is here. We earned this seed and now it's time to end the 3,641 day winless drought in the NCAA tournament for Marquette and the 3,648 day winless drought in the NCAA tournament for Shaka Smart. 10 years of pain ends today.

This program and this coach were meant to be together. Both suffered through Done Deal and now both are in position to be better because of it. Time to take advantage. LET'S EFFING GO! WE ARE MARQUETTE!!!

Yes, if you are drinking with JB, you should call Uber.

Glad the third annual upset of #15 over #2 is out of the way for this tourney. Let's GO! You too USC.

I've been saying 20, Goose, but I'll gladly settle for 15.

Me as well…..3 am I woke out of a deep sleep and my mind started going through several different scenarios for this afternoon. I believe we are on and show what this team is capable of.

It's been 10 years since our last NCAA win

I will not miss every single person mentioning this repeatedly when talking about MU hoops in March. It’s not a monkey on our back anymore. It’s become a 700lb silverback gorilla.

This has been a fantastic year and it’s not fair that Wojo sucked so bad to put this kind of pressure on these guys. Although, I’m confident they won’t feel the same weight on their backs.

You will not see me complaining one bit about the specifics of the game or how we look today. It’s truly a “win anyway” type of situation. Just survive and advance and I’ll be over the moon.

Country

I agree on not needing to win with style points at any point over the next six games. I don’t care how they win these next games and winning with style will be a bonus.

The amount of people picking MU to lose today on twitter is… unsettling.

Play D like we did in the BE tourney, and run our usual offense and we win.    This will be a passionate effort on Mu’s part -  and passion has no limits.   Goo Marquette!!
