The article here says in part, if you want bigger ratings, you need Villanova and/or UConn playing which seems to contradict the statement above about 2 Midwest teams.

And what about other rounds of conference tourneys, such as Big Ten on Big Ten Network.

Also, one can't use the lack of Jay Wright/Villanova explanation as to the A10 Final having better tv ratings 4 of 6 years for example.

Regarding network, Fox hoops ratings were up this year.

And saying this has been an issue for several years reinforces that it's an ongoing issue.

Has the Big East championship game always been so early?  I remember it being later in prime time in the past.  The ACC championship has normally been on Sun, hasn't it?

I had the same recollection.  I think the acc moved theirs when they were trying to usurp NYC and the big east.

It's been at 8 central in the past.  I think the 5 OT game finished damn near midnight in NYC.

Tip hasn't been 9 pm since 2012. 

The championship game has been 6:30 (eastern) every year since 2018 (with the obvious exception of 2020).  2016 and 2017 were even earlier at 5:30 (eastern).
