The Marquette Title IX office confirmed to the Marquette Wire on Monday that an investigation into Rev. Timothy O’Brien, the Les Aspin Center founder and director, is ongoing.

O'Brien is living at the Les Aspin Center this semester. He is set to retire June 30 - just over a month after the official hearing date is scheduled to take place.

That’s not good. Is his name on the Jes Res?

Looks like it’s a different person.

The O'Brien name on both the Jesuit residence and the new business building is no relation to this Fr. O'Brien.  Fr. O'Brien isn't even a Jesuit.

If the bolded is accurate....oy... Marquette what are you doing here?

"The class was meeting with Dr. Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health, on the main floor of the Les Aspin Center. Schmidt said O’Brien was there for the whole event.

“At the end we got up to take a photo with Dr. Fauci,” Schmidt said. “O’Brien was also in the photo and he would have stood right behind me if one of my friends did not switch places with me.”

However, while O’Brien was originally in the class photo, it appears he was cropped out in the university’s Instagram story post."

I swear I had Fr. O'Brien for a Poli Sci class in ~1990.  Am I mis-remembering?

I assume he's around 80+ years old?

You absolutely could have had O'Brien as a Poly Sci professor in 1990. I had two classes with him in the late 80s. I would guess he's in his mid to late 70s.

I never knew much about the Les Aspin Center, other than it was in DC. Seems like a weird set up....an old priest and 20 college kids living in close proximity. Are there any other staff or faculty at the Center?

Yes. There are other staff working at the Center - who don't live there.

From the article:

"But O’Brien went into an elaborate story about this basketball player that he helped get into Harvard Law School.”

That would be Marc Marotta.

Not sure about O’Brien’s age. But for age/department comparison sake, Larry LeBlanc recently turned 83. (He retired in his mid to later 60’s.)
