Congratulations MU for being BE Champions.

Wow. That half drove me nuts.  I'm going to get some air.

Goose

Congrats to the team and coaching staff !!

Lol. It was never in doubt.

Hats off to DePaul. They kicked our ass in the second half and really took it to us. Without Kolek, MU loses that game down the stretch.

Herman Cain

We won and that's all that matters

We had a rough second half.  Hopefully we learn from it and play a 40 min game Tuesday.

But not outright champs yet. We have work to do and perhaps this scare will get our heads right for the stretch run and tournament.

Who's that guy?

You're an interesting dude.

Look up The Last of Us. The guy in the screenshot embodies what you want out of Marquette basketball. Well, maybe except the murders. Or maybe not.

Daniel

Big lead at half time and less effort to start second half letting DP get the first 5 points.    We need to get big leads and crush the opponent.  I'm sure Shaka cannot be happy with the way the second half went and will lay into the team about it.   Glad we win!   They fought at the end and did not let it get away.   Kolek hits like what 7 of 8 from the line to seal the deal.   Whew

It's a teaching moment.  Young team getting ahead of itself but they still won and quite frankly, I'm as impressed had they won by 40.  Saw a few teams meltdown today as they blew big leads.  Marquette found enough offense to hold on.  That's basketball

I don't know the guy. I get that I can fly off the handle but we played poorly in the 2H and lost focus.  It's something we can learn from but I am just calling it as I saw it.

He clearly wasn't happy at all Daniel. But it absolutely is a good teaching moment.

I'm just trying to say take a breath, keep some perspective, and try to enjoy this.

Don't let a frustrating half of basketball distract from how f'n great this season is and what was accomplished tonight.

His name is Joel, and was last seen with a baseball bat sheath in his gut.  Just like MU giving up 56 points to DePaul in second half.  Gut wrenching.  But the good guys always win.

Goose

Shaka had four subs on the floor less than four minutes into second half. No rhythm and a lot of stops in play made for an ugly half. Just feel badly we were not entertained in the second half, otherwise it was a game they had no chance of losing.

And that was my main source of frustration nyg.  We were a sieve for the entire 2H defensively.   A 2 seed is in play and we're in excellent shape to solidify a 3 seed.  Obviously it's been a fantastic season but I do think it's important not to be satisfied at this point.  It happens though, teams lose focus with big leads.  The expectations from my vantage point should be to bludgeon a team like DePaul and then pickaxe Butler and St. J .  Then we should be in an eagle eye focus zone for the conf and ncaa tournament.

We won.  Move on to Butler.

They were playing at high speed and efficiency for first 24 minutes and then rhythm changed. I wish it had not happened, but a non event. Big leads can turn into sloppy play and that happens.

wisblue

The game was anticlimactic because the sloppy/choppy play took the crowd out of it.

When I look back at this season tonight's game won't be one of the highlights.
