Normally, I think I'd agree with you. But I think we've got a team and a coach that really need to get an NCAA win.

If we don't win the big east and exit in 32? Just as much as if we win the big east and exit in 64.

If it's 2nd-5th and sweet 16 I'll take sweet 16 any day. But a great year and 32 is why the 3 amigos and Lazar aren't on any of Shakas pictures on the walls.

The reason these are hard to answer is because the options aren't independent. A season with a big east title but first round exit will always be bittersweet. A big east title entails a team so good it should be favored in its first two games at worst. So if I had to pick _only_ one, I'll take the tourney win and chance to keep playing, and be satisfied with a conference season good enough to get us a tourney bid and good first round matchup.

I agree.  The Shaka/Marquette can't win in March narrative us exhausting.  It would make for a long offseason.

I watched the team get off the bus at the Al when they won the BEAST.  Junior Cadougan hugged that trophy like it was his first born child.   I want the team to have that. 

That accomplishment will be remembered far longer by everyone then winning a single game in Des Moines or Columbus.

..but the NCAA values the BET winner more. Gtown could win the BET so which at large team (last 4 in) gets screwed.

I was trying to understand whether fans would want a big east season title or to finally win another NCAA game after a 10 year drought for MU.

I personally want the beast title.

Sweet 16 would be preferred over that

But that's not the distinction I was looking for.
