Crazy theory, but maybe this team follows Scoop's lead.   Maybe the team reads Scoop in Dec and Jan and start to believe they really are a great team.  So by the time they get to Feb and March they think they can just coast through the end of the year beating everyone.  As they start to struggle they read the rationalizations and excuses on Scoop and just keep believing it's all fine and there is no reason for concern.  Then suddenly it's round 1 of the tourney and they get smacked by 30 points.  🤷‍♂️
