Excellent job from our guys tonight when things were a bit out of sorts.  I'll just leave it at that.

Can you expand more? Is there stuff going on with the team we don't know about?

Great point.  The final score doesn’t show just what a grind that was.

Shaka is now 4-0 against Nova since coming to MU.

Nova is a quality team that could conceivably get hot and win the Big East Tournament.

Winning games like tonight will help build character down the stretch .

I just felt that in general we didn't really have it tonight offensively.  There was no flow and some individual mishaps.  To get this one and seize the last 4 minutes was extremely impressive under the circumstances.

He's the Nova coach-killer.

Jay retired rather than having to go up against Shaka any more, and this year's Nova fans are ready to ship Neptune to Uranus. (And you know how painful that can be.)

right on mugs!  our shooting from the perimeter especially seemed way off despite shooting 37%(respectable) as a team.  it felt more like 30% but TK and stevie saved us.  cam was 2/9, omax was an 0'fer-ouchie!

seems like oso turns down too many shooting opportunities when he's down low(no pun)  also, if his background says he has a little bit of perimeter shooting skills from his h.s days, he needs to pop a few more mid range/freethrow line shots.  the D sags off him so much, he should be working on popping a few of those.  it would really open up a few 3's or breaks to the hoop.  maybe he's saving those for the beast ;)

Mugs, it was pretty obvious what you meant with your original post.  I agree they won a grinder and that’s impressive.  Hard to be at your best on offense every game even though we’ve been spoiled all year.  Nova played good defense for the most part but we also missed some open threes we normally make.  I agree with Herman also that this type of win builds and shows character and will be a valuable experience to draw from later in the tournament.

Personally, and objectively, I think the offense works just fine the way it is.

Yes, if Oso is not confident in his jump shot, the solution is not to have him go all Ed Morrow and start firing up clanging 15 foot jumpers.   MU's #1 rated offense (#2 after last night?) doesn't need Oso proving his worth by shooting jumpers.

Maybe next year, if Oso does what TKo said he would do next summer.

I didn't check.  Purdue had a really good night and I thought they might have nosed in front.    Cool.

Marquette had 73 points in a 67 possession game, got to the line a lot.  Shooting numbers were bad but not truly awful to nudge them down much

Our overall number dropped a smidge. But we stayed at 1.

Prior to last night there was a bigger gap between us a Bayler(2) than Baylor and the 9th rated offense.

I understand this team is a year ahead of schedule but I feel we have to take advantage of this group and this season.  There isn't a dominant team, MU absolutely is capable of winning the BEast outright, a 2 or 3 seed, and a deep, deep, run in the NCAA tournament.

Here is the list of teams that scare me:

Get greedy, get medieval, take advantage of the situation. and good things hopefully will be in the immediate future.  I truly believe MU's A game stacks up quite well against any team in the country.

well, of course i mean to make most of them.  remember TK 3's in beginning of season? NOT LIKE THAT!  find a place on the floor and work on a nice mid range shot and make the mofo.  until he can show an ability to make those however, no, please no
