Tonight's spread.

Can't complain about not getting respect.

Defending BE Champ coming to town.

Biggest game in Shaka's tenure?

2003 Final Four squad deserves this dub.

Tea leaves seem to be that Bynum is out. Hopkins more up in the air but trending in the wrong direction (for PC).

If both are out, PC will be in a jam. Cooley has been going 10 deep in Big East play...but maxxing the minutes of the top 6 and cutting the minutes of 7/8 to about 10 a game and 9/10 to less than 5 a game. The bottom four haven't produced at all since Big East play started. They're there to give the top 6 a quick breather and not F up too badly. If 2 of the top 6 are out, they will all need to play big minutes.

#4
Bynum went up to contest either a lob pass or a rebound with Clingan.  (I was watching and don't remember which.   He jumped really high banging with the big guy)  He came down holding his ribs.   In the moment, I thought he had caught an elbow.   He hasn't played since.

Hopkins had ankle issues at Kentucky.

What do u mean not getting respect? Providence not?

#UnleashSean

I'm not a betting man, but its a -7.5 spread pretty large for a game between two of the four top teams?

bilsu

I was really looking forward to a rematch with a healthy Providence. The game sucks now.

Typically yes.

But I believe they were 6/6.5 pt dogs at Creighton saturday too. So considering Hopkins being iffy and us being more consistent than Creighton at this point its lining up

If Hopkins doesn't play why doesn't Providence postpone like Northwestern did against Michigan?

But $100 on MU -6.5

Because they would still have plenty of players available.

If you bet, bet the Under 152.5....

No hopkins and Bynum means no offense, and more defensive lineups for Providence. -7.5 is questionable, PC is still solid NET rating wise without both of these guys.

Those 2 guys aren't out, they are questionable.

Hopkins is probably going to play.

T Rank has Marquette favored by 8.  The line looks right to me.

If Bynum and Hopkins don't play, should be an easy cover.

Even if they play, it'll hurt our seeding if we win.  I'd probably lose just to help the Big East and Providence's numbers which in the long run will help us as long as we win at UConn and Creighton

No one is going to care who played and didn't play in this game come March.  Just get the win and move onto Saturday.

PC adjusted offense is 12th at home and 53rd on the road. PC's defense is 97th at home and 39th on the road.

PC adjusted offense is 17th with Hopkins and 90th without him. PC's defense is 94th with Hopkins and 7th without him.

Hopkins overall impact on the line is low, his impact on the total is more.

Also i am seeing it getting activly bet down. its at 151.5 with tiny juice under.

Good point.

If Shaka really wanted to do it the right way, he'd lose the rest of our regular-season games but win the Big East tournament. We'd be a 10 or 11 seed and then sneak up on the entire NCAAT field. Championship? In the bag!

Wish I would've known that before I hit the over.

Next time drop this kind of knowledge a bit sooner please 😂

My first thought was going under, because with the higher energy and emotional impact for the 2003 squad and Wade being in the building I could see a bit of tightness/nervousness offensively, more missed shots than usual on both ends.

Then I said to myself that Marquette has scores 80+ in almost every game sans a few lately, and then when I considered Providence possibly missing Hopkins I thought a blowout was much more in play. Blowout could mean 85+ for MU, which would probably mean 65+ for Providence, which would be the cover with the over.

So I guess I should hope Hopkins plays for the over, but I still hope he doesn't.

Blowout would be the best result by far, with or without bet won.

Best hope is that it is a small sample size, and hope Hopkins plays and Bynum doesn't. You'll need Marquette to score at will, which they can do so who knows. If it gets to a blowout, hope MU plays some of the bench guys with the starting guards.
