Well, you knew it wasn't going to be much one way or the other.
Worried about inside, but they've dodged other threats. No bet.

I am going with fingers crossed into the game tomorrow. Hoping some home cooking and confidence over recent play is the deciding factor. We are going to see how far over the hump the program is over the next few games.
I would have to think the place will be rocking which can only help the cause.

Goose, we've been disrespected.  The time is now for dismantling UCONN and others in our path.

I love this team.   If I were to bet, I would put my money on UConn.  Both Xavier and Providence had enough size to go toe to toe with Sanogo and Clanigan.  MU doesn't.   The UConn guards shot and missed way too many 3's.

I predict an emphasis on pounding the ball inside and hitting the offensive boards hard.

IF MU can force turnovers and not get blown up on the boards, MU can win.   I am not feeling it.

The next three games remind me of the weekend in '86 when we played Dayton and UNC, both games on national TV and a program trying to create an identity. Only difference, in '86 it was a make of break weekend for the program. I believe this will be a start of many big weeks of MU moving forward.

Not till the weekend.  I was hoping to see my niece but they don't have classes until after MLK day.

OMax and Joplin are going to have opportunities to turn this game in MU's favor.

UConn has no true 4 defender. Joplin played a respectable game at home against UConn last year in his limited time, and UConn doesn't have Akok Akok this year.  OMax and Joplin have a chance to feast.

I'm with you Goose.  Tomorrow is a tremendous opportunity and then hopefully we can roll from there.

Going to need two great halves to beat UConn  - will be a battle inside but we need to be successful at the rim -  we can do this! Gooo Marquette!

I'm not hearing/seeing the same confidence as 4ever regarding an MU win tomorrow in some of our more confident (optimistic) posters.  I think 4ever chose this moment to predict a win because he is dead on right.

Let's go Warriors!

No true pg and no true 4. Pressure TO on defense and  driving to get to the line on offense will be key.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Sorry I forgot about you 82.. You have been extremely confident as well.  I also think you are dead on right.

Should be fun tomorrow.

I am 100% confident that if MU plays well for 40 minutes that they will have a very good chance of winning the game. The first five minutes are going to be key tonight, and if they come out of the gate quickly I think they win the game. For a young team, not playing too fast and hitting shots early will help to a quick start.

UConn was our nightmare matchup last year. They are still big, physical, and great on the offensive glass. I don't expect a win, but there are some areas we can exploit to give us a shot.

Oso needs to play a lot in the high post area. Get his defender away from the rim and give a 5-out look repeatedly. Kam and O-Max need to be in attack mode early and often. UConn is fanatical about denying the three, so take advantage by driving past and drawing fouls.

On defense, lots of pressure. They also want to play fast, but have a few turnover prone ball handlers so apply backcourt pressure, hope for some easy points, and take time off the shot clock to force them into short clock situations.

If I had to bet, I'd take UConn and the points. But the home atmosphere with a friendly whistle gives us a chance if we're on our game.

Doc,

I take great pride on knowing my MU history, but the last post has me stumped. A little help?
