Big East had a slow start that was very predictable. Lotsa young players throughout the league that would need a little time. Especially on the top 6 teams.

It's still a down year for the Big East. There are 4 good teams at the top but but the bottom 5 are bad and the bottom 2 are extremely bad. The middle 2 are probably good but have had too many injuries. This is letting the top teams rack up wins which means better rankings.

This goes back to my earlier comment about young players in the BE needing to get their footing. Those were all early season games.

I get that. But that's what down seasons are, bad non-conference seasons. You build your conference's cache in the non-conference and then you divide that cache in conference season.

Yes, and that's why we got 6 single-digit seeds. And had Xavier not shat the bed, going 2-8 from February 5th on (with 4 losses to non-tourney teams) it would've been 7 bids. Even if Xavier goes say 4-6 in that stretch they would've certainly earned a bid.
