Golf ratings have just been terrible this year and the FedEx Playoffs have been a disaster so far. It feels to me that moving the PGA to May has lead to a lot of casuals not spending much time on golf after The Open.

LIV.    And the hubbub around it.

LIV.    And the hubbub around it.

But no one is watching that either. So are people just saying "screw it" and watching something else entirely?

I think LIV has been a big cause in the decline. I was listening to a golf program on ESPN MKE and the host noted how little interest he has in watching golf this year. He and co-host both noted LIV as part of the reason. I also think that some fans are turned off by the money being thrown around and constantly being mentioned. I have probably watched 50% less this season, including not being glued to the TV for the majors.

Thank you both.

The casual fan has never been all that motivated to watch the Fed Ex Cup in the first place. Majors and the Ryder Cup (maybe The Players) move the needle for casual fans, that's it. This is why the old WGC events never really took off with viewers.

The fact that the BMW had almost the same number of viewers as a pre-season Saints-Titans game is terrible.

Agree. I am a casual golf fan. I rarely watch regular tour events, and I have watched maybe an hour of all FedEx Cup events combined over however many years it's existed.

I watch the majors, especially the weekend rounds, and I'll tune in and out of the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup, especially if it's close on Sunday.

(FWIW, I don't watch exhibition football, either.)

LIV golf took some of the big names from the PGA and watered it down.  with PGA being diluted and LIV golf hard to find on tv, all of golf has suffered

GB & I defeats the American gals at the Curtis Cup, 10 1/2 - 9 1/2.  Played at Sunningdale, a fantastic course.  Event of the weekend

you did see that i said "can be" but nice how you and 82 have to bring your political opinions into the discussion.  let's talk about weekend's handy... was it a 6 or an 8?  i doubt he can remember the last time he and corn pop golfed

We were just reaffirming your point.  45 is a great example of character revealed on the golf course.  Lying and cheating on the course like in life.  Great example of your point.

In an interview, Faldo mentioned that Pickleball had higher ratings than a Koepka-Rahm playoff for LIV.   So nobody is watching.

MU82, look up Norgaard chipping at the British Masters.   3 straight duffer chips, still wins the tourney.

The chipping part of that I've got down. The winning tourneys part is where I fall a little short.
