Jimmy Dunne, one of the architects of the PGA Tour's framework agreement with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, resigned from the Tour's policy board Monday, effective immediately. In a letter to the board that was obtained by Sports Illustrated, Dunne wrote that "no meaningful progress has been made towards a transaction with PIF," and that ever since players seized control of the board and cut him out of negotiations, "my vote and my role is utterly superfluous."

Dunne's resignation comes almost a year after PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan stunned the golf world with the framework agreement. Initially rolled out as a "merger," the framework agreement was actually the blueprint of a deal that would allow the Tour to determine the future of PIF-funded LIV Golf.

My home course is an off the beaten track beast that some people won't play because it is tough and others won't return to because the owner can be salty with drunken fools and doesn't believe the customer is always right.

Not belittling your accomplishments on the links, well aware that you are a great player. But "tough" doesn't make it a non dump in our expert's eyes. Quail Hollow, for example is a very difficult track and a regular stop on the tour but is nonetheless a dump, so there you go.

Wrong. Rico used to thrive with occasional but creative and genuinely funny stuff. I looked forward to reading his musings. Every once in a while we see a glimpse of that guy but mostly he's just a broken record now. Same old stuff, over and over and over again. Once bright has turned boring. He doesn't yank my chain at all - he yanks his own.

Lenny, not to put too fine a point on it, but many here, including you, have fallen into ruts and are no longer as interesting as they used to be.   Familiarity breeding contempt.   People changing and no longer having the same joy they used to.   I read certain posters and decide it is easier to put them on ignore than engage in the same argument for the nth time.

Maybe it is the nature of a relatively insular message board.   Maybe it is life.   I don't know.

Shot a 98 at Whitnall National last week and I'm very happy. Second round in over 2 years due to knee problems. I'm 68, my short game sucks and will use a driver on a 200 yard par 3 and still come up short. But I play fast, have fun and enjoy the game.
