15-year-old Miles Russell becomes the youngest to finish in the top 20 of a professional event, doing so in the Korn Ferry Tour's LECOM Suncoast Classic. He was making his first pro start on a sponsor's exemption.

He broke one of Tiger Woods' records last year, becoming the youngest player to be named the AJGA Player of the Year. Russell, who is from Jacksonville Beach, Fla., is a high school freshman who has also won the Junior PGA and Junior Players Championship events. He shot a 66 at TPC Sawgrass in the latter. Russell said that he began playing golf at age 2 and broke par by age 6.

Damn. I didn't break par til I was 7!

LIV going to have their individual championship at Bolingbrook GC in suburban Chicagoland.   Good course?  How many scoopers have played it?  Can it be made challenging enough or will it be a non-stop 59 watch?

I see on the website it has a water fountain, so that means it's clearly a terrible golf course

Last week, I had a friend tell me that LIV was headed to Bolingbrook GC in September. I told him funny joke, however he said the news was true. I was absolutely floored. I'm not sure Bolingbrook is a even a top 15 public course in the Chicagoland area.

The course was not designed nor intended to host a professional golf tournament. I have played it a handful of times. It will be a non-stop 59 watch. There's a solid chance the winning score is 30 under even with just 54 holes.

My friend and I were discussing all the Chicago public and private courses that LIV must have been turned down from to end up at Bolingbrook. The list had to be long. Interesting that LIV only lasted two years at Rich Harvest Farms before Jerry Rich told them to hit the road.

🏀

It's not a good course. LIV should be at Bull Valley, but maybe Gary finally played hard to get.

RIP Peter Oosterhuis.  Won the Order of Merit 4 times, runner-up twice at The Open.  Better known in the states as an announcer.  Wasn't afraid to be critical of players but always honest on the call.

hunter eichhorn finishes T-5 on Korn ferry tour

For Eichhorn, a former Marquette golfer who was co-medalist at one of the two Monday qualifiers to get into the Veritex Bank Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour in Arlington, Texas, his T-5 finish Sunday was a start.

It earned him a start in the next event on the PGA Tour's top developmental tour, in two weeks at the AdventHealth Championship in Kansas City, Mo. It also earned him a spot on the Korn Ferry Tour points list at No. 80, which adds his name to an exemption category that currently feeds the alternate list for each week's event, but could lead to stronger status with each cut made.

Jimmy Dunne, one of the architects of the PGA Tour's framework agreement with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, resigned from the Tour's policy board Monday, effective immediately. In a letter to the board that was obtained by Sports Illustrated, Dunne wrote that "no meaningful progress has been made towards a transaction with PIF," and that ever since players seized control of the board and cut him out of negotiations, "my vote and my role is utterly superfluous."

Dunne's resignation comes almost a year after PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan stunned the golf world with the framework agreement. Initially rolled out as a "merger," the framework agreement was actually the blueprint of a deal that would allow the Tour to determine the future of PIF-funded LIV Golf.
