Rory, describing Scheffler's game, how he has all the shots...."he hits those little bunt cuts with his driver".....

That is a phrase I would be terrified to say in public, let alone multiple times in a live interview.   Hell, I double checked after typing it.

To be fair, C U Next Tuesday has a much different tenor in the UK/Ireland.  Toss it around like "idiot".  Rory is far more polished and isn't daft enough to say it in an interview, even accidentally, but point being he likely doesn't have the fear of it hardwired like Americans might.

Played it today.  Much of the time, it feels like there is more sand than turf.  Optical illusion.  Very firm greens.   Fascinating backstory.   The sand in the bunkers is thick and heavy, unlike anything I have played before.   I should have spent a moment in a greenside bunker in the practice area.   Or more time hitting irons so I missed the bunkers.

Highly recommend it.

When did people start playing golf regularly?  I took lessons as a young child and I think I was just interested in more active sports, so I wasn't super interested and my parents weren't pushing me.  Now as an adult it'd be a good excuse to be outside when it's nice out, but I'm so bad and so self conscious about slowing people down that actually play, plus it's an expensive hobby to suck at.

I was supposed to play Kent CC, American Dunes, and Pilgrims Run 2 weeks ago. Had it planned for a couple months and at the last minute my buddy's wife made us cancel. They live in GR so we were gonna stay with them. I guess she didn't want us to have fun that weekend

Looking forward to playing it eventually

I am so sick of seeing the Points Bet Paige Spiranac commercial. I'm embarrassed for all involved.

Kent CC is very old school.  Beautifully maintained.   Landlocked, so not as long as some others.   I haven't played it in a few years, but when I did it had the fastest greens I have ever played.
American Dunes, hit it straight.  Don't be afraid to judicially lay up off the tee.   The ball does not check.   Like 20-30 feet of runout from a well struck wedge.  Green speeds posted, 10.6 today.

And if you get to GR (or what is left of it after tonight), message me.   I love meeting scoopers.

Hail to the Victor.
Hovland has played consistently solid golf for quite a while. Nice to see him get the big payday for it.

A Sunday back 9 that is one for the history books. Hovland has looked like that "next great player" for awhile. Today he took a giant step in that direction.

And today he made it official.

The cash is nice, but it's no major.

He'll get one.    He learned at the PGA.

Very enjoyable time watching MU golf team at Erin Hills. The level of talent is very impressive. Great field and the good guys still have a chance heading into the back side. Highly recommend any golf fans to attend next year.

I will say it is beyond hot out here. Played here a couple of weeks ago on a 90+ day and even hotter today.

That is great tournament. A golfing friend of mine played in pro am yesterday and his son is coach Army, I believe. I need to check that out.

Goose, you would really enjoy the stories told.   The course is really good, too.

No.

That's a good thing.  Courses with waterfalls or water fountains are 💯 trash

Folds of Honor is a fantastic golf course concept. Honoring our fallen and disabled service men and women.

An excellent collegiate event as well.
