The real clown in this equation is Monaghan. He shouldn’t earn a penny from this starting with his 9/11 comments to selling out.

I forgot exactly what he said but wasn't it more or less that the players that left have been living under a rock if they don't understand the impact of 9/11?  I recall Nantz asking him about it and Monaghan was seemingly very forceful with his disgust of those bolting for LIV as well as LIV in general.

Monaghan's comments were always about protecting his own turf against a threat rather than any moral issues over 9/11.  That's why it looks so silly now.

I'm as surprised as anyone and waiting for the details. Don't want to rush to judgment. (If there's anything I've learned from Scoop it's 5 years to judge.) I did see some blurb about the team concept being part of this deal. That's a head scratcher.

I am generally optimistic, glass half full, etc.   I feel somewhere between Joey Hauser setting a screen against Brad Davison and Joey playing help defense against Ja Morant.

I rarely watch "regular" PGA Tour events, so this won't change anything for me in that regard. But I love the majors, especially on the Sunday of a closely contested one. It's too early for me to figure out what this all means as far as whether I'll continue watching those; need more details.

I really enjoyed watching this past Sunday's LPGA finish, with Rose Zhang winning her debut event. She could be golf's next Tiger Woods, and that's pretty exciting.

Now, if the tour has Budweiser or Target as a sponsor, well, that’s different

I told my son that hopefully the only good that comes out of this is that Greg Norman is told to go to hell.

Monahan being trashed by players and media.

On the other hand, LIV is out of business and the defectors are not immediately back on tour.    How much $ do the defectors have to return?

Will the LIV guys even come back?  One of the reasons they left was so they could have more family time.  Cam Smith was pretty adamant about how great it was to spend more time with his mates in Australia.  Can’t imagine he’ll want to grind on tour again

Initial reports are that the European LIV players will not be eligible for the Ryder Cup.

Yeah, not a huge loss.   Long term, captaincies?

I'd guess  they will return about $0.

Could PGA membership dismiss Monaghan?

I heard about a minute snippet of the guy and was not remotely impressed by anything he said.
