Apparently, I need better caddies.

Muggsy, another short person won on the PFA tour.   You should be enthused.

Thinking about the frat boy bleachers mentality criticized in the baseball thread.   This is just another example of that.  Possibly with betting involved.

The Women's Open just got a lot more juice with Lottie's win Sunday.  That course looks beautiful.  The twighlight rate is about $250.

The morning groups got the better of the draw today.  Nelly, Lydia, and Lottie will have a fight on their hands.  There are a ton of great young players on the LPGA.  You woukd think Jeeno eventually gets over the hump.  It's also time for Farue to find her game.

Nelly has really struggled with the putter this year.

Miyu Yamashita off to a strong start.

Annoyed that I didn't see that Harbortown was under construction until November. Was hoping to get on while Iwas there. Enjoy the last 3 holes and had a gift card.

Still got 3 rds in over vacation. My scores were about what I expected for picking up the clubs for the first time all year. Lots of inconsistencies.

Heron Point was the highlight--only 6500, but plays tight (Pete Dye course). Also partl because I managed to put up a few birds and that made my round.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Miyu with a stellar 2nd round.   She went medieval.  Lottie has bounced back but 16 has been a disaster.  Nelly not in contention.

We need to send Nelly to Alligator Alcatraz for embarrassing America.  Until we hold American athletes accountable for embarrassing the troops and Jesus, this is what will happen.

She might have a medieval round tomorrow. Regardless, Miyu and all diminutive athletes should be respected.

Well that's fine if it's a healthy laugh.  Do not mock or ridicule smaller athletes.

Does that include the ones from parts of the world you want to eradicate?

I never stated we should eradicate/eviscerate parts of the world.  I'm for disposing of as many scumbags as possible for starters and choking them economically.   Oil can be usurped for the benefit of the world.

As we begin our American purification, short people are way down the list of those that will be ostracized and then neutralized, but we'll get there

Golfed for about the 3rd time as an adult last weekend.  Went as well as I could've hoped.  Given that someday sooner than later I won't be able to run around and play basketball a couple times a week I figure I'll have to pick up either pickleball or golf, and I think it's going to be golf.  What are people's recommendations on how to get good enough to not just slow the people you're playing with down?  Don't think I'll ever play more than 2-3 times a month during good weather months.

Any recommendations on a set of golf clubs for someone who won't be a serious golfer?

2-3 times a month is quite a bit.  Just get fitted.

If you're going to cheap out, buy a set at costco

A few lessons from a local pro - before you develop too many bad habits - could be very helpful. Maybe someone a friend or colleague recommends.

While you don't want crap clubs, what you'd buy at this stage of your golf journey isn't of major importance. As the saying goes, "It's the archer, not the arrow." Hards' Costco recommendation is a good one. Also might be able to find a decent used set - I remember seeing several at my local PGA Superstore. Even Play It Again.

Perhaps tower, who actually knows something about golf, also will chime in.

There are generally lesson packages for a really good price.  Get a 6 lesson package.  Also, decide early what your budget is and how much you are going to obsess.  If you are truly able to play 2-3 times a month and just want to keep up and not worry overly much about score, a good pro-shop will be able to put you into some decent entry clubs.  I just had a very good friend return to the game after a dozen years without playing and he ended up in a Tour Edge set, one of those 11 clubs and a bag for $450 deals.  He hits them well, and in his words, they will work until he gets serious.

To summarize, get some lessons first and communicate with the pro shop.  Good ones won't upsell you immediately, knowing that once you are hooked, you will be back.
