Ben Gold Improvement

There is a lot of discussion about the improvement of Oso, Kam Jones, Omax, etc, and that is all very true. But, I want to congratulate Ben Gold on his improvement too. He started the year slowly, but is now showing definite signs of being a really solid contributor. He does not get a lot of minutes, but he is definitely starting to make the most of the minutes he gets. His defense against Creighton was great, and he is consistently running the floor hard, going hard after loose balls, etc.  Keep up the good work, Ben. More minutes are coming your way.

On defense he's been really good at using his chest on defense. A lot more sturdy when guys try to post him up than the lankiness of his frame shows.

Ben is a freshman big.   Who came from New Zealand and. missed a a lot of game reps due to COVID.    Culture shock and basketball shock.   He is making progress. Adjusting to the speed and intensity. He has to realize how big and strong he is.

But, like Sean and Chase, he hasn't played lime he was afraid.

Was hoping he'd have the opportunity to shoot a couple more with the pick and pop.  His teammates had other ideas though.  Seems like if the first one goes in they should try to set him up for another.  I agree with others who say that he has a lot of potential and will be an impact player at MU going forward. I also like when he is in the game at the same time as Oso.

Ben is a good player who will get better with more playing time and maturity. He's already a contributor who helps and doesn't hurt the team. He's fun to watch.

Ben, is an interesting player, Shaka playing him out of position at center.  To skinny, needs to gain 20 pounds of muscle, so he can play the 4.  More of a wing but not quick enough.  Maturity will be a big help, hope he stays 4 years.
