Holiday Tournaments
« on: November 24, 2022, 07:11:32 AM »
OK, so another one's in the books, and we know MU is saying a big Aloha! next year.

Any info on what holiday tourneys we're in line for in 2024 and beyond?

All I know is you won’t be attending!

Really nice / clean juco facility for this week’s games. Pregame area setup worked well.
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

Nothing beyond Maui has been announced.  They'll probably announce the 2-3 after that in April. Guessing they won't go beyond 2026 as they're likely holding out hope of being invited to the PK90 in 2027.

I feel like the Orlando Classic is virtually a guarantee. Feels like we go there as often as possible.

Anyone know the deal with Atlantis? There seems to be a Big East team there every year but it’s never us.

I was thinking the same thing.  Would definitely go if it were an option.

Too much crime around campus and the team can’t get visas

Atlantis is ideal. Stay over at The Cove.

Orlando - yuck.
Charleston - roll that back anytime.
Myrtle Beach - would go.
Fort Myers - need another game.
Nassau - 100%
Montego Bay - ✅
Virgin Islands - eh, probably.
Vegas - once every three years
Hall of Fame Tip-off - no chance
Daytona - sure.
Caymans - not the easiest flight
New York - pass
Kansas City - for sure
So Cal - probably
Cancun - the Hard Rock looks like a dud resort and it’s not close to better resorts
Portland - hopefully soon
Destin - would go
Maui - will go one time and one time only.

There’s way more of these than I thought. At least another dozen mid-major tournaments out there too.

If they get an invite to the Caribbean I will be there. I haven't seen any news about the Virgin Islands tournament in years and I did not know that the Cayman Islands even had a tournament.

Pretty sure the men's part of this tournament no longer exists, hey?

Sultan asked about it. Therefore, it's still an option.  He explains it all.

It was actually a joke. While admittedly not very funny, I find it hilarious that your obsessions with my posting lured you in anyway.

First thought-
Why would you pass NY? I’ve been and it was great.

2nd thought-
Maui is a several time assuming you can afford it. Hawaii is beautiful, even tho Maui was the least of my faves while there

All others-
I’ll go to say that I’ve been somewhere new, good excuse with an MU tourney

I lived in Hawaii for three years. I am in total agreement on Maui. Least favorite of the major islands.
But that being said, it’d be like saying out of. Benz, BMW, and Porsche, which is your least favorite?

Good point.

As a local you’d know ‘more’

Got engaged there. Enjoyed Oahu the most- loved the variety of cultures, flavors, foods, etc.

Kauai was second, it was great.
The beauty in the north can’t be touched.

Maui was last. Halialkala was the ring spot, above the clouds. Road to Hana is memorable as hell. The rest is pedestrian.

Either way, what a beautiful part of the world, and a treat to call the place you locked it all down
