Keys to prime-time Guac:

Don't get fancy.

Ripe Hass Avo's
HIgh quality 🍅 (I usually go vine)
Red onion
Cilantro
Lime
A touch of olive oil
A dash of cumin
Salt
Habenero pepper.

Tips:

Don't use too much lime juice

Use 1/3 of the Habenero seeds

Do not mash the crap out of the Avos with the other diced veggies.

:)

Yes, but it's never quite as good as the first eating.  And you need to seal the guac with the pit in tight saran wrap.

Take out the onions and cilantro.  Usually do jalepenos instead of habeneros but that sounds solid.  Pit and saran wrap definitely needed if you want it to be any good beyond the day you make it.

I love great guac, and I'll even happily eat less-than-great guac like Wholly Guacamole in a pinch. Obviously I love guac with great chips -- one of my faves are Stacy's pita chips -- and of course with Mexican food. But I also love to use it as a mayo substitute on turkey sammiches or in tuna salad.

Silly me!  I totally forgot about a couple cloves of minced garlic.

Nope, urban legend.

Yes, but it's never quite as good as the first eating.  And you need to seal the guac with the pit in tight saran wrap.

We go with sealed Pyrex and aluminum foil tightly pressed to the guac. You get miniscule browning at the edges, but it's near miraculous how fresh it stays for 2-3 days.

Thin layer of water on top of the guac. Then the Saran Wrap has to be tight to the water line and seal the bowl. It’ll last a day or two.

And take out cilantro?  Are you nuts?

Picked this up at Costco (of course its in a 20 pack). Not quite guacamole, but really good on toast with a sunny side up egg on top.

Why on earth would you do that?  Just buy 🥑 🥑 🥑 and salt and pepper them yourself.  it takes 20 secs.

I love those.   Use them on so many different foods in lieu of other condiments.

One of the great things about guac is that there are myriad ways to make it, that are still fantastic and per preference.  Granted, this is provided its seasoned and not just avocado.  The only guac I don't like is bland or glorified avocado mash (which is great in its own right, but not guac).

I personally love chunky guac.  Tomato, onion, cilantro, and if I have time, dice up some roasted tomatillos.  I also am big on using garlic salt in lieu of normal cracked sea salt.
