I don't know how many months it's been since I posted here, but when someone posts something this mind blowing, I can't resist.

PUMA IS STILL A SHOE COMPANY?  I thought they went out of business around 1990

Can't believe we're living in the land of F 452/1984/Animal Farm/Brave New World/Handmaid's Tale. When travel to Mars begins, expect Starship Troopers

You clearly don't pay attention to sports.  They are the main sponsor of Usain Bolt, the biggest track athlete of the last 20 years.  They sponsor a TON of high level soccer clubs and national teams.  They have a growing golf portfolio.  The sponsor Melo Ball and a couple other young NBA stars.  Its not like its LA Gear

Most comfortable golf shorts on the market from the mainstream golf apparel companies imo

Puma did practically fade away in the early 90's
It looks like they had revenue of approx $200-400 million yearly during the decade.

They're now up to about $4 - $6 billion annually.

The aformentioned LA Gear took a chunk of that early 90's sales as they made it up to around $1 billion annually.
But as the days of glitter disappeared and the age of grunge was born, LA Gear was finished.

Although there still are shoes made under the LA Gear name.   Annual sales of around $5 million.

Rickie Fowler popularized Puma for a lot of kids. They loved the golfer who looked like a kid himself and who dressed in those bright-colored Puma clothes and shoes.

When I was a kid, Walt Frazier was the coolest athlete on the planet. He wore Puma and they named one of their shoes after him. I begged my parents to get me some Clydes and they finally did. One of my favorite birthday presents ever.

My parents were pretty anti-materialistic so I always had to deal with generic shoes while kids were wearing first generation Air Jordans. Until I had foot problems in high school, and my doctor recommended Nikes because they support the foot well and are cut more slim - so they were good for my long, skinny feet. I was never more happy. I certainly didn't get Jordans, but I at least got a more decent shoe to wear.

Nikes are still the only tennis shoe I will wear because it actually does fit my feet well.

I pay attention to the sport. I stopped caring what shoes athletes wear around the time I started paying for my own shoes.  Besides Micheal Jordan, I'm not sure I could tell you what any athlete wear/wore and my enjoyment level of watching sports has not deteriorated.

That picture of Frazier looks like they literally made him wear his shirt backwards so you can see his name. The collar sits up high like it would at the back of his neck.

Then don't act like a statement is patently so absurd that you HAD to comment when you know nothing about the topic?

Probably because his team did not sponsor Puma.

oldwarrior81

Digger had those Puma commercials in the 80's

So I never went near them.

Back then, athletes never wore their uniforms in print ads or commercials or on trading cards. I always thought there were legal reasons for it - trademarks or copyrights or whatnot. You'd know more about that than I would.

MuggsyB

Tremendous vertical drive and finish from DJO.

MuggsyB

Ughhh.  Two sloppy plays.  DJO missed an autoflush.

Jarvis Williams been a key player in past TBT.

But he looked brutal game 1.

And in brief minutes that qtr just as bad. Was very fortunate to even draw that one foul

Just biffed a lay up that lead to a 3.

Hes gotta sit.

We have too many options to be playing guys who dont got it.

Agreed.  What's with this line-up?

MuggsyB

Sweet Jesus.  Jamil looks seriously hurt.  Terrible.

PGsHeroes32

Jamil started walking a bit there.

But an injury to him is no bueno.
