I got to know Killings a bit while he was in MILW.  Really good guy, and pretty mild mannered. 

I hope it's not true.  And, it's very odd to be starting an investigation of something that allegedly happened 4 months ago..

The timing/delay is odd.  You wonder if Fizulich only brought it up to the admin when he announced he was transferring?  Or, it could be a case of the admin knowing about it for 4 months, but only now launching an investigation because they're looking to move on from Killings, for free, after a sub-par season. 

Also odd that it was Fizulich.  Clearly he had a pretty good relationship with Killings, enough so that he was willing to walk on at two schools just to be around him.

It's not uncommon for students to sit on things like this for awhile. Assuming the allegation is true (not saying it is, just giving an explanation for why there may be a delay if its true), my guess would be that Fizluch didn't feel comfortable accusing his coach and feared that it would result in retaliation. Now that he's transferring, Killings can't retaliate (or at least not as easily) so Fizluch feels safe coming forward.

That being said, depending on the facts of the case and the specific allegation, university investigations can easily go 4+ months. Hell, I've worked on investigations that took 2+ years

Add that "Killings claims it was accidental" - and unless a couple other teammates witnessed that there was intent and decide to speak out, it could take a while.  None of the athletes have spoken publicly about it so far.  So, who knows...

Killings has been reinstated.  Smart for the school to investigate and glad it was apparently a mistake and isolated.

The University at Albany says it has concluded its investigation after the school received a complaint against head men's basketball coach Dwayne Killings.

A UAlbany investigation concluded there was "inappropriate physical contact between Coach Killings and a student-athlete during a pre-game hype circle immediately prior to a road game on November 24, 2021, and that the incident was never reported to administration," according to a statement released by the school on Saturday.

UAlbany says that the incident was isolated, and that Killings has acknowledged it, apologized and expressed regret.
